Sunday Papers Live #22 Edition
November 19 @ 12:30 pm – 10:00 pm
Sunday Papers Live Returns to Offer The Ultimate Sunday Experience: The Broadsheets Brought to Life
Sunday Papers Live returns to London this November, transforming every section of the beloved broadsheets into live sessions, from deep discussions to light-hearted repartee, delivered by various writers, artists, and comedians.
This event encapsulates the quintessence of a relaxing Sunday. Each element that defines a leisurely Sunday is reimagined and brought to life from reading papers, savouring food, playing games, and unwinding—all under one roof. The speakers, a closely guarded secret until the week preceding the event, promise to echo the eclectic allure of predecessors, including the likes of Rose McGowan, Ed Miliband, Anthony Gormley and Jon Snow.
For the first time, Sunday Papers Live will take over the iconic, rarely open to the public, Welsh Chapel on Shaftesbury Avenue, transforming the stunning Grade II listed church into London’s cosiest living room. Attendees can expect the main hall to be filled with comfy couches, blankets and pillows, with Bloody Mary bars and an array of comfort food designed to create the ultimate atmosphere for relaxation. Live music and the Ultimate Pub Quiz will bring the halls to life. For those requiring light activity to keep them entertained, arts and crafts activities will be available.
“Great talks, big cushions, strange things happening in a lovely room, a roast lunch – a mix of traditional Britishness and non-traditional oddness that London does so well.” – Jon Ronson
“Different to anything I’ve seen in London. Smart, cool, laid back. Just beautiful.”– Mos Def
Guests are invited to step into an oasis of comfort, where attire consisting of PJs and slippers is not just allowed but encouraged. No Sunday would truly be complete without the joyful presence of furry friends, so pets are welcomed. Wrapped in the warmth of cosy blankets, Bloody Mary in hand, attendees will listen to engaging talks by historians, scientists, and writers—each contributing to the rich tapestry of the Sunday Papers Live experience.
