The Long Play Sessions – Kevin Dettmar – Punk In 50 Pieces – ***TOMORROW***
Join The Long Play Sessions on Saturday 17th October at ICMP Queen’s Park for a special evening with acclaimed author and music critic Kevin Dettmar, discussing his new book Punk in 50 Pieces.
Through 50 essential songs, records and defining moments, Kevin explores the artists, ideas and attitude that shaped punk, post-punk and the #alternativemusic that followed.
Joining Kevin in conversation is Jon King of Gang Of Four, bringing first-hand insight from one of the most influential and politically charged bands to emerge from the punk era, including Sex Pistols, The Clash, The Cure, Blondie and Talking Heads.
Expect a fascinating evening covering punk postpunk, politics, art, experimentation and the records that changed everything, followed by an audience Q&A.
