London Hurling

May 18, 2019

If you are looking for a sporting event that’s a bit ‘niche’ or ‘out-there’ and loads of fun, this will be right up your street.

Hurling is one of Ireland’s traditional games, played for over 4,000 years. It is the fastest field sport in the world and one of the most skilled.

It has come on massively in that time and matches these days are as competitive as professional sports, but the unique feature of Gaelic games is its amateur status and volunteer participation.

Sky Sports has begun to broadcast hurling in recent years, which have been the subject of amazed tweets by first-time viewers (see: https://www.balls.ie/gaa/british-twitter-reaction-2015-all-ireland-hurling-final-307750). London has its very own senior county team so those interested can cheer on their own team and witness it live in the capital. We are extremely proud of our redevelopment of our county grounds. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.bbc.co.uk/news/amp/world-europe-40071489
