| Expertise | WWT is the charity for wetlands and wildlife. WWT Wetland Centres are full of life and rich with sights and sounds. Through accessible, sensory and seasonal experiences in the fresh wetlands air, we show visitors how they can play their part for wetlands and help to restore them, whilst highlighting how much wetlands can enrich our lives and our natural world. WWT London Wetland Centre is an award-winning urban wetland with over 105 acres of nature reserve to explore. Located in the borough of Richmond upon Thames, the Centre opened in 2000 and has been designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest. It has been carefully managed to produce a variety of wetland habitats, including lakes, pools and wet grasslands, all of which attract an incredible array of wildlife, some of which cannot be seen anywhere else in London. It also delivers a slice of the great British Countryside to the heart of our concrete capital city. The Centre holds year-round events suitable for all ages, children’s activities and many interactive ways to get close to wildlife. It has six hides for wildlife watching and a well-stocked shop and café. All the paths are flat and accessible to all. It is worth remembering that every visit helps support WWT’s vital conservation work. Ticket prices start from £16 for adults, £14 concessions, £10 for children aged three to 17 years and £45 for a family ticket. Visitors can save on admission by booking online in advance, with reduced price tickets available for visitors receiving specified benefits and free admission for WWT members, carers and children under three. |
