Woodland Wellbeing Drum Circle 2023
September 16 @ 2:30 pm – 4:00 pm
Get real with nature and the rhythm of the drum!
Join Gambian drummer Seneke Sillah for an uplifting session of African drumming, song and movement set in 100 acres of beautiful woodland at the Organiclea site in North Chingford.
Group drumming has been proven effective in enhancing well-being and social resilience, as well as the alleviation of depression and anxiety.
Weather permitting, activities will take place outdoors. In the case of inclement weather, the session will take place in the woodland classroom.
Light refreshments will be provided.
All levels and abilities are welcome. All drums are provided but feel free to bring your own drum if you want to.
Participants can also join us for a 30-minute well-being walk after the session in the woodland next to Organiclea. You will need suitable footwear for uneven or muddy ground. Our walk leader has completed the Ramblers Wellbeing Walk Leader training and leads weekly wellbeing walks for Leyton Orient Trust in Walthamstow.
Access to workshop areas is step-free, but the terrain can be uneven as outdoors. Please contact email@example.com if you wish to discuss your access needs.
What to wear
Wear comfortable clothes and dress warmly for outdoor activities (or bring sunscreen/a hat if sunny).
These sessions are aimed at adults, but we welcome children at our sessions accompanied by a parent/carer.
Getting There & Away
These sessions are delivered in partnership with Organiclea and funded by The National Lottery.
