Warriors and Saints book launch

Dizzy Press is pleased to announce the official book launch for Warriors and Saints, a new anthology of poetry and art co-edited by Joe Bidder and Dave Russell.

The book launch will be held on Tuesday, October 29th, at the Poetry Cafe, 22 Betterton Street, London WC2H 9BX.

Julie McNamara will compere the night, which will feature readings from various contributors and a special performance from Caroline Parker MBE.

The event will be from 7-8.30 pm, doors from 6.30 pm.

There is free entry, but please book to reserve a seat as there is limited capacity.

ABOUT WARRIORS AND SAINTS

Warriors and Saints is an anthology that champions the best in diverse poetry from the UK. Editors Joe Bidder and Dave Russell have worked together to select new and existing work from the voices of the Survivors’ Poetry world since the 1990s, survivors of the mental health and care systems or allies who have helped change society through their creativity and vision.

The anthology features 24 contributors, including poets Patience Agbabi, Billy Childish, and Vanessa Vie, plus artwork and illustrations by Colin Hambrook, Hilary Porter, Dave Russell, Ifigenija Zagoričnik Simonović, Vanessa Vie, and others. It also includes an introduction by Alastair Niven OBE LVO, who supported the development of the Survivors’ Poetry movement and the formation of the Survivors’ Poetry charity.

Warriors and Saints pay tribute to the poets, artists and activists of a time that is now long forgotten but whose legacy is as timely as ever. The struggle for equality and human rights is still not over.
