Actors From The London Stage (AFTLS) has undertaken the same work for over 40 years – spending a week’s residency at each university it visits, performing a Shakespeare play, and going into class to share the experience of using scripts with students. The plays are performed with minimal props, no set, and without a director. Through the actors’ skills, language is the true star that inspires the audience’s imagination – as we believe Shakespeare intended.
The five cast members of Twelfth Night have just returned from the United States, where they performed and taught at Wellesley College in Wellesley, MA; Valparaiso University in Valparaiso, IN; the University of Texas – San Antonio in San Antonio, TX; the University of Florida – Gainesville in Gainesville, FL; the University of Tennessee – Chattanooga in Chattanooga, TN; the University of Notre Dame in Notre Dame, IN; the University of North Alabama in Florence, AL; and DePauw University in Greencastle, IN.
