The ultimate dare is to tell the truth
As a celebration of Madonna’s 66th birthday (yeah, really, that icon is 66!) we’re putting on ‘Truth or Dare’, the eponymous fly on the wall documentary that was groundbreaking, certainly in its box office success, and chronicles the backstage antics of the Blond ambition tour.
Madonna personally comes out of it as a little bit marmite, you don’t entirely love her but you can’t deny her absolute stature as a groundbreaker and force of nature, and really, that’s why we love her. She does the things that others were afraid to do, putting LGBTQ dancers at the forefront of a major release film was unheard of in 1991 and was a turning point.
