Performing at the beautiful Cadogan Hall for the EFG London Jazz Festival is Tigran Hamasyan, one of the most remarkable jazz-meets-rock pianists and composers of his generation. He is known for blending improvisation with the rich traditional music of his native Armenia.
His much anticipated conceptual album, ‘The Bird of a Thousand Voices’, reimagines a traditional Armenian tale with a modern twist. Set for release on August 30th via Believe/Naïve Records, this project breathes new life into the ancient firebird story, which has been passed down through centuries. The mystical bird of a thousand voices is a beautiful metaphor of our times: a world in search of connection and harmony, faced with ecological, psychological and spiritual crises.
