EVER FANCIED COMPOSING A SYMPHONY WITHOUT HAVING TO WRITE ANY ACTUAL MUSIC?
The LIO [London Incidental Orchestra] has been on a mission to discover the Ultimate Beethoven Symphony and introduce you to some of the nation’s favourite movements.
“It’s hard to do anything original with Beethoven….. but you’ve managed it!” – John Suchet, Classic FM
It’s the IKEA school of composition: Beethoven provides the parts, you provide the structure.
Simply choose your favourite 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th movement from any of Beethoven’s 9 symphonies to build your own Ultimate Beethoven Symphony.
Your Ultimate Symphony might look like:
1st Movement from the 5th Symphony
2nd Movement from the 7th Symphony
3rd Movement from the 6th Symphony
4th Movement from the 2nd Symphony
Or you might go for something completely different.
Voting closes on the 3rd of September – head to www.londonincidentalorchestra.co.uk/beethoven to vote and find out more.
The LIO will play the most popular choice in a special concert starting at 7.30pm on Wednesday 19th of September at St John’s Church, Waterloo – London
Conductor: Alexander Conway
