The Sun Can Be: An IPLA Collective Exhibition — Opening Night and Special View

August 9, 2025 @ 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM

Free

Join us for the Opening Night and Special View of The Sun Can Be, an exhibition by the IPLA Collective. This special evening will feature live performances and readings by the exhibiting artists alongside guest poet and performer Tim Postovit, celebrating cross-cultural collaboration and international innovation. Expect an inspiring night of experimental poetry, text art and live performance from David Spittle, Aimae Nimmo, Matthew Sokulsky, Danica Ignacio, Eleanor Wilders, Cameron Wade and more to be announced.

About Tim Postovit
Tim Postovit is a Czech poet, performer, and translator of Ukrainian origin. Born in Ukraine, he has lived in the Czech Republic since childhood and studied philology at Charles University in Prague. He is the author of the acclaimed poetry collections Magistrála (2019) and Motýlí pavilon (2021), a slam poetry champion, and an active member of the Czech Writers Association. He currently works supporting the Ukrainian community through the Organization for Aid to Refugees (OPU) in Prague.

About the Exhibition
The Sun Can Be showcases new work by four young British-based poets — Cameron Wade, Danica Ignacio, Eleanor Wilders, and Matthew Sokulsky — working across visual poetry, experimental text, asemic writing, and text art. From multimedia installations and prose-puzzle poems to typewriter art and calligrams inspired by Surrealism, the exhibition explores the materiality of language and the shifting nature of reality.

Further Events
The exhibition runs until 5 September 2025 and includes a series of accompanying evenings of live performance:

  • IPLA and Friends — Thursday 14 August, 7–9pm
  • Plus additional events on 16, 21, 23, 28, and 30 August, 7–9pm
All events are free, no registration required.
