In the snowy streets of a festive town, Akaki is a humble clerk who resists change, clinging to his small routines and simple pleasures. He’s perfectly happy with his old coat, despite its many patches, but as Christmas approaches, the coat has become too worn to keep him warm. When a tailor declares, “There’s nothing left to stitch,” Akaki must buy a new coat—a decision that will change his life. With the first snowfall, Akaki’s new coat brings both joy and unexpected challenges, leading him on an unforgettable journey. Through enchanting shadow puppetry and an original score, The Overcoat becomes a visual treat for audiences, capturing the warmth of the season and reminding us of the simple power of kindness.
Told through a mixture of clowning, shadow puppetry and storytelling this is a treat for all ages.
