The Gleaners and I – 25th Anniversary Screening

Voted one of the best films ever made in Sight and Sound’s latest 100 Greatest Films of All Time poll (and named the eighth greatest documentary of all time by the mag in 2014), Agnès Varda’s study of a French subculture of people who live on food discarded or unpicked following a harvest – the gleaners – is also a playful, self-reflexive record of the director creating a film out of images and ideas that other filmmakers might think disposable.

Join us for this screening marking the 25th anniversary of one of the cinema’s most modest masterpieces.
