Discover stories of public punishment over time

As part of the special events programme for Executions, the newest exhibition at the Museum of London Docklands, join Nick Collinson aka the Urban Rambler, on a guided walk exploring the ancient city of London.

Discover the darker history of infamous London sites, including Smithfield and the Guildhall, through their connections with executions and changes in the law. From the inventive execution techniques of the Romans to a spine-chilling method of dealing with a very specific type of criminal, hear the intimate stories of these sites, the unfortunate people put to death there and the culture of public punishment in the City.

Please note that this walk will feature descriptions of executions and their aftermath, which some may find offensive.

Please note:

  • This walk will start near St Paul’s. The exact starting point will be shared upon booking.
  • Tickets are ONLY available via the Museum of London Docklands Box Office or website and must be purchased in advance.
