As the sun sets on this summer eve, join an immersive storytelling experience in the grounds of Orleans House Gallery, where environmental history will meet the wonder of celestial interconnectedness. Integrating choreography inspired by Western and Caribbean flow with harmonic invocations inspired by nature, Stand of the Sun offers a new ritual amid climate chaos. Together, live musicians, visual artists and dancers offer embodied imaginings of how the sun experiences our over-heating world. Can we empathise with an entity so utterly different to us, yet intertwined with our fate?
The event is free and inspired by the environmental history research project ‘Melting Metropolis’, at the University of Liverpool.
