Love You From Prague presents the work of Robert Vano, one of the most acclaimed photographers of Czech and Slovak origin, whose career took him from Czechoslovakia to New York, Paris and Milan before eventually bringing him back to Prague. Making its London debut, this retrospective features more than fifty photographs spanning four decades of his career.
The exhibition is divided into three thematic sections. Boys from Bohemia showcases Vano’s celebrated black-and-white series exploring youth, friendship and freedom against the dramatic backdrop of the Adršpach Rocks. Polaroid Sessions highlights his work for leading fashion magazines including Vogue, ELLE and Harper’s Bazaar, revealing his distinctive approach to Polaroid photography. The final section, Prague Impressions, presents poetic views of Prague, the city Vano chose as his home after years abroad.
Together, the three series offer an insight into Vano’s unique visual language, shaped by fashion, portraiture and fine-art photography, and the remarkable international career that made him one of the best-known photographers connected to the Czech Republic.
