They say there’s no such thing as a free lunch; well, this week, there is! Sandwich Sandwich and Heinz are bringing one of the world’s biggest food trends to the UK’s biggest sandwich shop with the launch of the limited-edition Birria Beef Sandwich, and they’re celebrating by inviting Londoners to the ultimate indoor picnic.
For one day only, on Friday 7th August, Sandwich Sandwich’s Mark Lane flagship shop – officially the UK’s biggest sandwich shop – will be transformed into a summer picnic complete with artificial grass, trees, picnic blankets, live music and complimentary drinks, offering a slice of the great outdoors in the heart of the city.
And there’s an even bigger reason to arrive early. From 12 pm, the first 500 customers through the doors will receive a free Birria Beef Sandwich. Inspired by the viral birria craze that has taken social media by storm, the new Birria Beef Sandwich reimagines the Mexican street food favourite as an indulgent, overfilled sandwich.
Created in partnership with Heinz, the limited-edition special is packed with slow-cooked pulled beef birria, Manchego cheese, crispy onions, lime and queso crème fraîche, Heinz Chipotle Mayonnaise, cucumber, rocket, coriander and diced white onion, all served in freshly baked bread. Every sandwich comes with a rich, slow-cooked beef birria consommé for dipping, delivering the full birria experience in sandwich form.
The Birria Beef Sandwich will be available for one month only across all Sandwich Sandwich locations in London and Bristol. So get down fast to try!
