Westway Trust, working in partnership with the clubs, galleries, street food vendors and subculture spaces across its 23-acre estate, is excited to announce the return of its flagship summer music and arts festival.
The Portobello Summer Festival has seen the likes of Fabio & Grooverider, Soul II Soul, Audio Bullys and local hip-hop star and activist Lowkey perform to eclectic local, national and global audiences, creating a summer party atmosphere.
With the line-up soon to be announced, 2019’s festival is set to be an equally genre-spanning affair, encompassing R&B, hip-hop, funk, disco, house, electronic, jazz and more. The festival theme of ’local to global’ seeks to celebrate and emulate the area’s history of elevating local talent, from music to fashion, to world-renowned status. The theme is also reflected across the street food, dance and other cultural offerings, bringing the area’s unique qualities together on one amazing site.
