Okinawa Day 2022

The ‘Okinawa Day 2022’ event returns to London for its fourth edition on Saturday 24th September. The event will take place at The Blue Market and celebrate the uniqueness of Japan’s southernmost prefecture. The event will introduce the audience to music and dances from several islands of the Ryukyu archipelago to highlight its rich cultural diversity. The event will take place from 12 pm to 5 pm and is free to join.
Those attending will enjoy Okinawan classical and folk songs accompanied by Sanshin (lute) and taiko (drums), as well as Eisa taiko drumming and dancing performances. In addition to music and dance, there will also be Karate demonstrations, Okinawan food and craft stalls.
The event is organised by London Okinawa Sanshinkai and Okinawa Association UK and supported by the Okinawa Convention and Visitors Bureau and other sponsors (further details below).
