With Nature is a Cyborg Annie Trevorah presents a nature-led world in response to the human-centred narrative of the Anthropocene.
Inspired by Donna Haraway’s provocative ecofeminist essay ‘A Cyborg Manifesto’, Trevorah’s sculptures challenge prevailing concepts of identity, gender and technology by imagining an alternative existence that transcends conventional categories.
Trevorah’s hybrid characters employ more-than-human healing powers, ranging from photosynthesis to hermaphroditic reproduction, as an isomorphic response to a world in crisis. Merging organic and synthetic materials with scent, light, and sound elements, Nature is a Cyborg invites viewers to reconsider their relationship with the natural world.
