Genealogy brought to life at The Camden Fringe Festival.
My Dead: An Immigrant’s Story
Do you know you’re dead? That’s not a typo. It’s the question genealogists and family history buffs have been asking for ages. Who can you claim as “your dead”, how do you find them and what can you learn from their individual stories?
A captivating new play about a woman who finds her path in life by discovering the stunning life stories of her ancestors. Guiding the audience through her family members’ old journal entries and letters, some shocking, some amusing, some heartbreaking, this woman shares her tips of the trade on how to go from not knowing the names of her dead to uncovering the intimate details of their very lives.
Genealogy brought to life. This one-woman play utilises family stories from England, Wales, Scotland, Norway, Denmark, and Mexico and runs just under an hour.
