Musical Pilgrims in Victorian London

A very special concert for the whole family to dazzle and unravel the intrigues and passions of the bygone era, set on  a Victorian Street  of the theatre play “A Sherlock’s Carol”.  

“Dresses, diamonds, pimples on noses, beautiful hair, marvellous outfits, the beauty of the devil himself, and the devil without the beauty. The last category is the least rare.” – Frederic Chopin.

This time pianist Yekaterina Lebedeva and violinistAysen Ulucanwill take you on the musical journey of Victorian London, the London of Charles Dickens and Sherlock Holmes.

“How could anyone resist falling in love with a man who is dashingly handsome, composes songs, and sings like an angel?” – Prince Albert was all of those things. Both Queen Victoria and Prince Albert were competent musicians and singers. The doors of Buckingham palace were open to the likes of Felix Mendelssohn, Edvard Grieg, Johann Strauss. The royal couple attended performances and conversed with Chopin, Liszt, Verdi , and Dvorak.Even Tchaikovskyfound more popularity in London than in any other country, except his native Russia and United Stated.

London was a crossroads and a magnet for international musicians who were looking to advance their career and popularise their music. Whether you are a fan of classical music or simply curious about the sounds that once filled the air in Victorian London, this concert promises to be an unforgettable evening.
