Ceci n’est pas un cabaret surréaliste
An evening of surreal delights featuring performers from the UK’s cabaret and alternative comedy scenes. Expect comedy, music and unusual interactive treats.
Featuring:
Andrew O’Neill
Andrew O’Neill is an award-winning comedian, musician and best-selling writer. A psychedelic non-binary whirlwind, they combine surrealism, polemic and good old-fashioned stagecraft to produce uniquely counter-cultural stand-up. Andrew has performed in over a dozen countries at over a hundred festivals. He is equally at home in rowdy comedy clubs as performing to their own cult following.
They co-wrote and starred in the occult Radio 4 sitcom Damned Andrew and will be appearing in Good Omens 2 this Summer.
The Wrong Numba
Creator and host of the delightfully bizarre The Wrong Channel (Brighton Fringe), this “wackily gifted auteur” (Argus) bring her larger-than-life personality and surreal observations to amuse and bemuse.
Michael Brunström
Michael Brunström is an alternative comedian, winner of the Malcolm Hardee Award for Comic Originality and member of the Weirdos Comedy Collective. He has created numerous surrealist solo shows, including ‘The Hay Wain Reloaded’, ‘Parsley’, ‘World of Sports’ and ‘One Thousand New Ideas Before Bedtime’.
Dusty Limits
The dark prince of London cabaret, singer, lyricist and bon vivant
Pope Guy XXIII
When he isn’t travelling the World to partake in tribal rituals, Pope Guy XXIII is a multi-disciplinary artist. Sometimes he makes strange ceramic installations; sometimes, he leads live guerrilla art performances. His next project is a collaboration with krautrock legends faUSt…..
Carrie Thompson
Carrie works as an actor, singer, and musician in theatre and on the comedy and cabaret circuit. In 2017, she was a backing vocalist and musician on tour with Arthur Smith Sings Leonard Cohen (Volume Too), played too many characters in Daisy Campbell’s four-hour epic, Cosmic Trigger, brought happiness to the King’s Head Theatre, Islington, as part of their Queer Season, and gallivanted about on tour, playing Princess Diana in Royal Vauxhall. She is the co-founder of Hermetic Arts and has starred in their productions BADD (Bothered About Dungeons & Dragons), Unburied and April, and is currently working on their first feature film, Unfounded.
HP Lovebox
Like a tentacled Sinatra, this chthonic crooner is surely one of the great old ones…
Hosted by Tom Baker – curator of the Antic Follies cabaret, host of Glastonbury Festival’s legendary underground piano bar and frontman of the alt-cabaret band The Bohemianauts
