Haraya Choir invites you to Haraya Singers Gala: Solos, Duets and Ensembles—a musical spectacle that puts your favourite Haraya singers centre stage. Discover the performers as never before through individual and group numbers spanning a wide range of styles and genres.
Haraya Choir is an award-winning British-Filipino chorale formed in London in 2017. Its name means “imagination” or “vision” in Filipino. The singers come from a range of professions, with many working as nurses and healthcare staff in the NHS and private sector, as well as in education, banking and finance. They are united by a shared passion for singing and a commitment to musical excellence.
Haraya won the grand prize at the Manchester Amateur Choir Competition in 2020, followed by first prizes in the Pop and Mixed Choir categories at the North Wales Choir Festival in 2022. This year, the group also received top prizes at the Basingstoke Music and Arts Festival in the Adult Choir and Show Choir categories; at the Chichester Festival for Music, Dance and Speech in the Male Voice Choir, Ensemble and Community Choir categories, as well as the overall Choir of Choirs award; and at the Bournemouth Performing Arts Competition in Choral Sacred Song, Choral Singing of Light Opera/Music from the Shows and A Cappella, together with the BPAC Adult Choir of the Year and the Geoffrey and Barbara Stark Memorial Award.
