This is a full week of intensive training – work with industry professionals from SCRUM Theatre – award-winning director and writer Tristan-Flynn Aiduenu alongside winner of the Tony Craze Award, Somebody Jones. This five-day playwriting intensive will help you kick-start and develop your next piece of theatre. The course is an opportunity to develop a play in the world of sci-fi, horror, fantasy or magical realism. We can’t wait to welcome you aboard.
This intensive is for:
- Writers and theatre-makers ready to start work on a brand-new play.
- Writers and theatre-makers who want to bring an existing piece/ideas into the room to work on and develop further.
- Writers and theatre-makers who are interested in exploring fantasy, horror, sci-fi and magical realism.
- Actors, devisers and companies are also very welcome.
What to expect across the week:
- Day 1: Understanding the world
- Day 2: Understanding the characters
- Day 3: Understanding the story arcs
- Day 4: Dramaturgy work on your scene
- Day 5: An afternoon reading of scenes within the group, with questions and feedback from Tristan and Somebody
