Your chance to see poets who are no longer with us trading bars in hope of glory!
Hosted by award-winning poet, screenwriter and novellist Dean Atta, the Dead Poets Slam is open to living contestants (poets, actors, singers, performers… anyone who wants to have a go) who have three minutes to perform a poem by a favourite poet who is no longer on this Earth.
You will have three minutes and may dress up, come in character or just do the poem how you like. A panel of judges will be chosen from the audience to award points for each performer and a winner chosen…the Greatest Poet of All Time?
The poets can come from any era or culture, whether classical, Romantic or recently departed and you don’t have to be a poet yourself to take part. 1st place prize: A pair of tickets for a film of your choice at ActOne Cinema.
