A striking artwork by the outstanding Czech artist David Černý, famous for his bold outdoor installations, is about to land in London. Czech Centre London, together with Atelier Bohemia, CzechTrade and Prusa Research, is bringing to the UK a special variation of Černý’s Butterfly Effect installation on the occasion of Clerkenwell Design Week. The piece commemorates the Czechoslovak RAF pilots of the Second World War, combining artistry, a proud Czech-British tradition, and cutting-edge manufacturing technology.
To realise the work, Černý collaborated with Prusa Research, the Prague-based company that pioneered desktop 3D printing and remains one of the world’s leading 3D printer manufacturers. The original artwork is part of Prague’s urban landscape, situated on the Máj shopping centre in the historic heart of the Czech capital.
