Following her highly successful documentaries Generation Singles and Non-Parent, director Jana Počtová explores further contemporary relationships following five stories about people who have decided to look for happiness in alternative relationships that deviate from the norm and are not often talked about.
The non-binary promoter of polyamory, Fro dates Honza, who lives with his wife, Andrea. They form a polycule with Jakub, who lives with Michaela and dates Andrea. Alexandr and Šárka are a stable couple practising an open relationship, allowing them to participate in parallel intimate relationships. Dagmar is in a long-term relationship with a married partner. At the same time, Miroslava, abandoned by her husband, looks for an ideal partner on dating sites. Finally, there is Kristyna and Mirek, a catholic couple who believe that real love is possible only in a monogamous relationship. Following the development of her protagonists‘ relationships over several years, Počtová emphasises their intimacy and fragility while revealing the search for a fulfilling lifestyle and also the misunderstandings, compromises and challenges brought about by unusual faces of love and the need for redefining partnership in our times.
