Common Ground: Stories, songs and memories from Greenham Common

Drop in to Hilldrop Community Centre for free, family-friendly activities between 12 – 5 pm.

What’s On:

There will be pop-up exhibits, a book reading, craft activities, face painting, willow den building and the chance to share your stories of resistance!

We will be joined by local organisations, including Community Plan 4 Holloway, St George Mutual Aid Group and Disability Action Islington, who will be sharing information about their campaigns and how you can get involved.

The Museum of Youth Culture will bring their scanner so you can add pictures from your youth to their archive. Remember to bring your personal photographs!

Refreshments will be provided from 1 pm, including a free vegan hot soup.

Accessibility:

We are taking steps to insure barriers to participation at this event are removed.

There will be a BSL Interpreter and Audio Describer throughout the day to support anyone with visual/audio impairments to enjoy all the activities. We will also be sharing a Trauma Busting Sheet to help ease any anxieties anyone might have about the day.

The venue is wheelchair accessible.

Getting Here:

Directions from Camden Road:

Turn off at Hilldrop Road (corner of Camden Road Baptist Church). Walk left round Hilldrop Crescent until you reach a gated alleyway on the north side of the road. Enter and follow the path to the centre.

Buses: 29, 253 Bus stop: Hilldrop Road

Directions from Brecknock Road (A2500)

Turn off at Hilldrop Road. Walk past Cutbush House, then turn right onto Community Lane.

Whilst you are welcome to book in to this event, a ticket will not be needed for entry.
