Birdwatching initiative and interactive performance at Greenwich Peninsula

April 13, 2023 @ 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM

Free

To celebrate the launch of the birdwatching logbook, join performance artist Lou Doyle on Thursday, 13th April, in Peninsula Square for an interactive experience like no other. Where local birds inspire their human cohabitors to question the concept of nature in relation to city living, The Hide is a playful opportunity to reconsider how we spend and direct our attention and to discover London’s most iconic
entertainment destination; the O(twit)2 arena.

Lou Doyle is a multi-disciplinary artist based in the Design District at Greenwich Peninsula, mentored
by the award-winning CLOD ensemble. Their work is interested in bewilderment, gender deviance,
and absurdity. They like combining performance art practices with flaneur-adjacent habits to create the
conditions for strangers to connect, awkwardness to be encouraged, and failure to be re-framed as
artform.

Illustration workshops will also be held on the Peninsula throughout the summer for residents,
students and the wider community, with the first being held at Urban Village Fete on 14th May.

‘Birds of Greenwich Peninsula’ (logbook)  is now on sale for £7.50 at Greenwich Peninsula Ecology Park and
NOW Gallery.
