The sun, a fascinating element of the skies. Can’t get too close, nor too far. Set at a perfect distance burning over 15 million degrees in the solar system. Join the experts from Royal Society Research Fellow as they have an in-dept discussion on the latest discoveries of the sun.

Some interesting topics that will be explores are how the immense magnetic fields in the Sun’s atmosphere sporadically erupt into the Solar System. If these eruptions reach the Earth they can drive major space weather events.

The experts include Maggie Aderin-Pocock  is an author and presenter of The Sky at Night: Book of the Moon will be set to release in September by BBC books. Lucie Green’s prominent 4 news hour discussion on BBC World Service broadcast and The 5Live Drive and Bacon’s Theory on BBC 5 Live has undoubtedly made her an expert in this subject matter. The talk will be followed by a book signing in the IMAX Theatre featuring both speakers.
