Another unlikely G&S scenario where the son and daughter of 2 rival monarchs are betrothed at birth, but now the time for their wedding is at hand, the Princess has renounced mankind and set up a university for women from which all men are banned!
However, much posing and threats of all-out war between the adjoining nations are settled by a very short skirmish between the sons of the monarchs (conveniently, they have 3 each). The wedding then takes place, and all look forward to a happy future. It takes a larger-than-usual cast and 3 acts to come to this satisfactory conclusion!
Performed by the Ferrier Operatic Society, this hilarious operetta is full of great music and fun action.
