DESCRIPTION:Join an interesting evening of discussion about women’s experiences in industries commonly built\, and controlled\, by men. \nInternational Women’s Day (March 8) is a global day celebrating the social\, economic\, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating women’s equality. \nKeynote speaker\, Woman of the Year 2019 Ivana Bartoletti\, will be joined by alumnae of New Hall Society to discuss gender inequality in predominantly male sectors. A portion of the evening will be dedicate for questions and discussion with audience. \nFeel free to arrive early and visit the Welcome Collection \nA drinks reception will follow. \nSpeaker Biographies \nKey Note Speaker\n \nIvana Bartoletti is a privacy and data protection expert and a public speaker and commentator on issues where technology intersects politics. Ivana is the Co-Founder of the Women Leading in AI Network and received the Woman of the Year Award in the 2019 Cybersecurity Awards for her work on digital ethics and equality. \nHer first book on the socio economic impact of Artificial Intelligence will be published in May 2020 \n  \n  \n  \n  \nAlumna Speaker\n \nKate Wilkinson (2013\, Engineering) is a data scientist working across a range of high-impact Artificial Intelligence projects. Since graduation she has worked at a specialist AI consultancy\, with her most recent work focusing on tackling discrimination enacted by AI. Remember the sexist Apple credit card? Kate has been implementing cutting-edge AI techniques for a piece of free software which can prevent these exact issues. As an accomplished AI software developer Kate is a champion of women at the current frontier of technology. \n£25 per person (£15 for alumnae who matriculated in or after 2010)\, guests welcome.
