SUMMARY:Better Go Mad in the Wild + Q&A with director Miro Remo
DESCRIPTION:Deep in the Šumava Mountains\, identical twins František and Ondřej have created a life far from the gaze of society. On their ramshackle farm\, they tend to their animals\, swim in forest lakes\, compose poetry\, drink\, philosophise and bicker – before making up and starting all over again. But beneath their eccentric routines lie two very different spirits: František dreams of freedom and adventure\, while Ondřej longs for the comfort of the familiar. As their unbreakable bond is put to the test\, their unconventional world becomes a funny and moving reflection on brotherhood\, solitude and the desire to live life on your own terms. Remo playfully blurs the line between reality and fairy tale\, mixing semi-staged vignettes\, striking visual tableaux\, a talking cow and plenty of anarchic humour. Warm\, eccentric and full of surprises\, Better Go Mad in the Wild is a wonderfully offbeat celebration of two charismatic outsiders who have created their own way of seeing – and living – in the world. \nMiro Remo\, Czech Republic\, Slovakia 2025\, 84´\, English subtitles \n  \n2025 Crystal Globe Winner at the Karlovy Vary Film Festival \nPresented at IDFA – Best of Fests\, \nCzech Lions: Best Cinematography\, Best Editing\, Best Documentary Film \n“Sprightly\, warm\, and endearing portraiture … conjuring little moments of magic by slowing down for long enough to notice all the details of two born outsiders who turned nature into their own private sanctuary.” – RogerEbert.com \nVariety’s Guy Lodge shared the love for the film\, calling it a “poignant\, permanent imprint of lives largely lived far outside the gaze of society and the authorities.” \nLondon Premiere organised in collaboration with Tributary Releasing\, UK distributor of the film. \nThis event is a part of the 30th Made in Prague Festival organised by Czech Centre London.

SUMMARY:Only Beautiful Things to Look At + Q&A with director Ivan Ostrochovský and actress Aňa Geislerová
DESCRIPTION:Ingrid (Aňa Geislerová)\, a successful gynaecologist at a district hospital in late-1980s Czechoslovakia\, lives a comfortable life with her music-teacher husband Maroš in a beautiful house in the countryside. At work\, she delivers babies\, performs abortions and takes part in sterilisation procedures\, often without her Roma patients’ informed consent\, believing she is acting in their best interests. But when Agáta\, a young Romany woman\, joins the hospital staff\, Ingrid’s carefully ordered world begins to shift. As the two form an unexpected bond\, Ingrid is forced to confront the unsettling truth that even the noblest intentions cannot justify the means. \nWinner of the FIPRESCI Award at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival\, Ostrochovský’s beguiling\, intimate drama confronts a suppressed chapter of Czechoslovak history\, when the state sought to control women’s reproductive choices and Roma women were subjected to forced sterilisation under the guise of modernisation\, care and medical progress. \nIvan Ostrochovský\, Slovak Republic\, Czech Republic\, Hungary 2026\, 88´\, English subtitles\nCast: Aňa Geislerová\, Simona Boledovičová\, Eva Mores\, Vlad Ivanov\, Éva Bandor\, Attila Mokos
