DESCRIPTION:The Spirit of Christmas” \nSouthend Boys’ and Girls’ Choirs perform \nBritten’s “Ceremony of Carols” with harp accompaniment. \nThe concert will also include music by John Rutter\, Adolphe Adam\, Bob Chilcott\, seasonal music\, festive favourites and audience carols\, all accompanied by the Southend Concert Orchestra. \nJoin the Southend Boys’ and Girls’ Choirs performing Britten’s “Ceremony of Carols” with harp accompaniment. The concert will also include music by Chilcott\, Rutter\, festive favourites and Christmas carols performed by the choirs and chamber orchestra. \nThe Southend Boys’ and Girls’ Choirs perform regularly in London’s major churches and concert halls\, including Royal Albert Hall\, Royal Festival Hall\, Barbican\, St Martin in the Fields and St John’s Smith Square. They have appeared in the BBC Proms concerts on many occasions\, in addition to working with professional orchestras and ensembles\, including Philharmonia\, RPO\, BBC Symphony Orchestra\, BBC Concert Orchestra and Locrian Ensemble. The choirs overseas tours have included performing in Sydney Opera House\, Queensland Performing Arts Centre\, St Mark’s Venice\, St Peter’s Rome and cathedrals across Europe\, US\, Canada\, Australia and Hong Kong.

DESCRIPTION:The 49th annual Covent Garden May Fayre & Puppet Festival celebrates Mr Punch’s birthday\, near the spot where Samuel Pepys first saw Mr Punch in England in May\, 1662. In the garden of St Pauls Actors’ Church\, the much-loved event features a full day of performances by Punch and Judy Professors and Puppeteers from all over the country.  \n\n\nThe day begins with a grand procession and birthday toast to Mr Punch at 11am led by the Superior Brass Band\, followed by a host of performances\, workshops\, maypole dancing\, folk music\, clowns\, and stalls. Everyone is invited to come and enjoy the shows and celebrate the art of puppetry on Mr Punch’s 362nd Birthday.
