SUMMARY:Children's Drawing & Painting Classes - Lauderdale House
DESCRIPTION:Our children’s art classes run on a termly basis\, providing children aged 6-9 with an introduction to the basics of drawing and painting. \nEach week children will build on their skills learnt in previous weeks\, developing their confidence and ability. \nTaught by experienced\, supportive\, and friendly teacher Aynur Erdal\, this class is the perfect opportunity to introduce your child to the world of art. \nWe welcome any students wishing to join for the whole term at a rate of £195 or after the beginning of the term with a pro rata rate of £15 per class until the end of the term. You are also welcome to book an initial taster class at a half-price rate of £7.50 ahead of booking the whole term. \nPlease contact the Lauderdale House office on 020 8348 8716 to book or if you have any queries about the class.

SUMMARY:Free Lunchtime Concert with Talia Nabarro
DESCRIPTION:In a special show as part of Lauderdale House’s Free Lunchtime Concert series\, Talia Nabarro will perform her programme ‘Progressions of Love: A Recital in Four Movements’\, accompanied by our resident pianist Stephen Hose. \nBringing together opera\, art song\, traditional song and musical theatre\, this recital explores love at different stages of life. The programme is divided into four movements: Early Love\, Mature Love\, Regret and Loss\, and Self-Love/Self-Actualisation. Beginning with the excitement and innocence of first love\, it moves through intimacy and deeper connection before turning to longing\, heartbreak and reflection. The final movement focuses on independence\, self-acceptance and finding fulfilment within oneself. \nTalia Nabarro is a classical soprano based in North London. She studied Music Performance at the University of Leeds\, where she recently graduated with a First-Class BMus. During her degree\, she spent a year at the University of California\, Santa Cruz\, studying vocal performance and opera. Her roles there included Susanna in Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro and Cinderella in Sondheim’s Into the Woods. \nTickets are free\, but we kindly ask that you book to give us an idea of numbers. \nVisit their website HERE

DESCRIPTION:Our Monthly Life Drawing Workshops are uniquely structured\, intended to develop the artist through a variety of creative and technical exercises aimed at unlocking individual creativity. Taught by experienced tutor Clare Grossman\, this class is suitable for the beginner and experienced artist alike. \nEach session starts with an inspirational quotation by a great philosopher\, artist or writer. The sessions feature one professional life model who will hold a variety of long and short poses. Sessions are structured by the tutor\, who is also happy to enable students to work independently too – the aim of these sessions is to build confidence and ability\, culminating in a wide variety of original drawing\, with students developing their own unique style and work. \nEach session (10.30 am & 2 pm) is 2 and half hours long.
