DESCRIPTION:Watch them swim like Peter Pan on Christmas Day. The Sepentine Swimming Club are going to have a jolly race of 100-yards or 91 metre  right on Christmas Day. \nThe London’s Hyde Park on Christmas morning since 1864 to compete in the Christmas Day Swim. Taking the gold medal on that year was H.Coulter. \nThe name Peter Pan Cup came in 1904\, when J.M. Barrie donated to the race on the same year as his play Peter Pan made its debut on London stage. The iconic story about a young boy that never grew up\, also resembling the race itself. \nThe Serpentine Swimming Club is known to be the oldest swimming club in the UK. Their weekly races never fail to bring in amazing swimmers. \n\n  \n\nThe Race\nThe Peter Pan Cup is only open to members of the Serpentine Swimming Club who have qualified during the season. The icy Serpentine waters are usually below 4C (40F) degrees in the winter\, so swimmers must become acclimatised over a period of time. \nThe race on 25 December usually starts at 9am and takes place on the south bank of the lake\, close to the Serpentine Cafe.
