DESCRIPTION:The Women Centre Stage Symposium: Are we at the Tipping Point?\nWhere are the women’s stories? Where are the women’s voices? \nAn afternoon symposium bringing together leading women across the theatre industry for a crucial and timely discussion on gender equality. \nHosted by Rosemary Squire DBE\, the afternoon will begin with a Keynote Speech by Jude Kelly OBE speaking from her experience with the global success of Women of the World festival. Following the Keynote will be two panel discussions and a plenary. The panels will be responding to the key questions ‘Why are women so underrepresented across UK theatre?‘ and ‘Writing for main stages\, what’s holding female writers back?’. \nPanelists and guests include; April De Angelis\, Brigid Larmour\, Cherrelle Skeete\, Jennifer Tuckett\, Jenny Sealey\, Jude Kelly\, Maureen Beattie\, Morgan Lloyd Malcolm\, Sue Parrish\, Timberlake Wertenbaker\, Victoria Sadler and Winsome Pinnock. \nWomen Centre Stage Symposium is sponsored by Nick Hern Books and supported by Arts Council England and Hampstead Theatre.
