SUMMARY:Theatrical Ceramics & Sculptural String
DESCRIPTION:In an unlikely collaboration\, Essex-born award winning ceramicist David Millidge and Brighton’s own alternative goth sculptor Sam Jacobs\, unite their contrasting art forms to create a cohesive experience that is both theatrical and tactile. \nMillidge\, known for his distinctive figurative ceramic sculptures\, offers his new works ‘The Precious Orbs Collection’ a glimpse into a world where each unique\, handmade ceramic sculpture boasts intricate patterns and forms\, inviting viewers to ponder the delicate balance between beauty and functionality. \nSam challenges perceptions with her self-supporting sculptures crafted from string and rope through macramé and fisherman’s knotting techniques. Her works are a testament to the strength found in vulnerability\, reflecting her personal journey and the environment that shapes her.

SUMMARY:Do you like it firmer or do you like it softer? Introducing… Bed Battle: Team Firm Vs Team Soft
DESCRIPTION:Do you like it firmer or do you like it softer? \n  \nTo help you decide\, eveSleep has launched a one-of-a-kind interactive event opening on 2nd to 5th May at the Gallery@Oxo aimed to help you determine how you like it in the bedroom…when it comes to mattresses that is! \n  \nThrough a series of static and interactive displays inspired by sleep data\, visitors will be guided through the event where they will work out whether they are ‘Team Firm’ or ‘Team Soft’ by testing a selection of different mattresses. \n  \nOpen to the public from 2pm on Thursday 2nd May\, the experience will include a variety of different activities to help visitors discover 2 different comfort experiences including: \nPrincess and the Eve \nMuch like the Princess and the Pea\, many people are sensitive sleepers and aren’t happy with the mattress they currently have. Would you still feel the pea under multiple mattresses like the princess? \nVisitors will get to recreate their own Princess and the Pea moment testing two different stacks of mattresses.  One stack will conceal a hidden pea at the bottom.  Consumers will be challenged to uncover which mattress has the hidden pea. \nPeople who guess correctly will be entered into a daily prize draw to win a free wunderflip mattress. \nSnoozebooth \nAre you a Starfish? Pillow hugger? Stomach sleeper? Visitors can unleash their inner sleep influencer by sharing their favourite sleeping position via a Snooze selfie booth. Simply jump onto the mattress and get into your optimal sleeping position\, no matter how eccentric or angular. Then\, the aerial camera will snap a pic of you in your snoozing pose. \nPress Snooze \nEveryone loves to hit the snooze button and enjoy an extra few minutes in bed\, but are you a leap-out-of-bedder or a snoozer? \nTo test if people are well slept or if they’re a professional snooze button smacker\, eveSleep has setup the ultimate reaction game. \nGet competitive to see if you can hit the snooze button the fastest. \n  \nFalling Into Bed \nFalling into bed after a tiring day is the best feeling. However\, most Brits have problems falling asleep. \nUsing inversion goggles\, eveSleep has made falling into bed a bit more challenging. The public will be put to the test and challenged to choose between the firm and soft mattress options while their world is upside down. \nSleeping Tablets \nCan’t help but do some mindless scrolling before bed? Well\, welcome to the Bed Arcade\, where you can chill on a ‘firm’ game space mattress and play classic computer games. \nMore of a Netflix and chill type of person?  Then lie back\, relax and watch your favourite romcom from the comfort of a ‘soft’ film space mattress in our Bed Cinema! \nNap Chat \nFinally\, visitors can be featured on the digital wall by sharing their pics\, comments and thoughts on the pop-up for others to read and enjoy. \nThe experience is free to attend and is open to all ages from 6 years upwards from 2 pm on Thursday 2nd May and 11am to 6 pm on 3rd to 5th May 2024 at Gallery@Oxo. \n  \nThe new eveSleep wunderflip is a unique dual-sided mattress range – containing the very clever ‘wunderflip adaptive comfort’ feature\, which offers not one\, but two comfort levels.  This allows keen snoozers to easily switch between firm and soft mattress tensions to suit their preference simply by flipping their mattress. \neveSleep launched the new wunderflip mattress range on the 27th of March and it’s available to purchase on the eveSleep website.

SUMMARY:Where is God in our 21st Century World?
DESCRIPTION:CHAIYA ART AWARDS run the UK’s biggest awards exploring spirituality through the visual arts\, with a top prize of £10\,000\, but due to the coronavirus the 2020 Chaiya Art Awards\, has been postponed until Easter 2021 at gallery@oxo on London’s Southbank. \nHowever\, founder\, Katrina Moss says “we feel that art can play such an important role in our current situation\, to calm the soul\, to challenge our perspectives and world views\, to inspire and encourage us\, to engage with creativity and the mystery within”. \nSo for the 1st time\, people from all over the world can visit the ‘Where is God in our 21st Century World?’ 3D virtual exhibition at the OXO gallery online. This is an exhibition for the curious and open-minded\, for people of all faiths and none. From over 450 submissions we chose 35 visual artists who responded to the theme with their imagination and creativity. \nPeople can also vote for their favourite artwork and the winning artist will receive £500. \nhttps://chaiyaartawards.co.uk/online-exhibition
