DESCRIPTION:Site-specific pop-up video installation by multidisciplinary artist Lina A.\n\nRead-Only Memory is Lina A.’s newest inquiry into the vulnerability and persistence of both personal and collective memories\, building upon the concepts of her 2024 solo show\, RAM. This immersive\, multi-channel video installation presents the viewer with a dizzying\, anarchic flow of fragmented imagery—lost\, found\, recovered\, personal\, and impersonal. Images bleed and writhe through stacked projections\, and an erratic soundscape enhances the feeling of disorientation and familiarity at the same time. The randomization of sequence interferes with linear narrative\, recalling the instability of memory and how memory decays\, overlaps\, and reforms. In Read-Only Memory\, Lina A. further explores the tension between preservation and loss\, the question of what remains archived and what is permanently lost to digital decay.
