SUMMARY:Knife on The Table - London Theatre
DESCRIPTION:A new Bruntwood-longlisted play about gangs\, love and family\, and communities battling ambition\, poverty and identity. \nFlint is an excluded teen\, a “soldier”\, dealing on the streets of SW London\, but still looking to get back into the good books of childhood sweetheart Book. \nBook is studious\, babysits for Flint’s younger sister\, and is keen to leave her road’s deprivation. She wants to move to the suburbs and avoid Flint\, ending her chances. \nBragg’s a captain\, pressuring Flint to deepen his commitment\, drive higher sales\, and prove his colours. \nShania is a pregnant teen\, a friend to Book\, and a member of Bragg’s crew. How Shania was initiated\, held the food\, and met the dealers is nothing compared to some of what she’s witnessed. Now\, she doesn’t sleep. \nChantal is Flint’s mother. She worries about Flint but isn’t about easily letting Flint’s dad back into his life. \nDanny is a Childline listener\, a former gang member\, a convict\, and Flint’s estranged father. He is on a journey back to his son. But will he find Flint before it’s too late? \nCarol\, outreach and youth worker\, and Danny’s girlfriend. She hears the worst of people’s stories\, including the worst excesses of Shania’s baby’s father. \nAngel\, gangland chief. He’ll initiate all his boys and girls into the tribe\, holding them close with disturbing gratification.\nAngel’s about to invite Flint for tea\, sales training\, and help with a weapons upgrade. \nWhat forces compel Flint\, Book\, Shania and the others towards ever-repeating tragedy? \nThis is a race against time to break the cycle.

SUMMARY:ADEY ኣደይ
DESCRIPTION:Having had its sold out debut at London Bubble Theatre Company in November as a part of the MAKE SPACE festival\, ADEY ኣደይ is back and better than ever for Camden Fringe. \nGraduating from drama school in 2023\, Bethlehem is now navigating one of the toughest industries by herself – but she’s never truly alone. Living at home with her traditional Eritrean mother Tsehaynesh\, Bethlehem doesn’t know what privacy is! Being a stoic woman of culture and strict upbringing\, Tsehaynesh struggles to understand Bethlehem’s career in the arts and what it takes to be an actress\, poet and writer. “When are you going to get a paid job?”\, “This agency is no good for you!” and “Did you hear anything?” is what Bethlehem is constantly pressed with\, and to make matters worse\, something drastic happens to Bethlehem which means she’ll have to work harder than ever to achieve her dreams. Will the endless open mic nights\, self-tapes and play drafts be worth it? \nADEY ኣደይ is a heartfelt semi-autobiographical play which combines spoken word\, music\, movement and dance to tell Bethlehem and Tsehaynesh’s stories\, transporting us to the colourful and vibrant streets of West Green Road as well as the palm tree covered pavements of Asmara\, Eritrea. \nJoin us on August 11th and August 12th for relatable stories of motherhood\, tasty Eritrean food and snacks\, plenty of tears and laughter\, learning how to shim shim and some award winning poetry.\n(Bethlehem is the National Heroica Poetry Prize Winner of 2024)

SUMMARY:SOLO
DESCRIPTION:– Where fame seduces\, identity fractures\, and silence becomes the scream – \nSOLO is an intimate exploration of how trauma\, mental health\, and obsession—combined with isolation and a culture increasingly focused on material success and popularity—can fragment and erode a person’s identity\, slowly pulling them into an unstoppable downward spiral. \nBlending physical theatre\, surrealism\, clowning\, and poetic storytelling\, SOLO is a gripping and visually striking one-person show that takes you deep into the mind of an artist struggling to survive in a world obsessed with fame\, perfection\, and digital validation. As mechanisation strips us of our essence\, we drift further from our own nature\, disconnecting from ourselves and others in pursuit of an artificially constructed Nirvana—an illusion of success and recognition that demands the ultimate sacrifice: truly living. Raw\, darkly funny\, and thought-provoking\, SOLO is perfect for anyone who loves powerful storytelling\, psychological drama\, and socially relevant themes. If you’ve ever questioned your place in the world or felt the weight of society’s expectations\, this show will speak to you. Ideal for theatre lovers\, young creatives\, and anyone fascinated by identity\, ambition\, and the cost of chasing a dream. \n“Beautiful. SUMMARY:The Legend - The Generact Trilogy Part 1
DESCRIPTION:“Nothing short of Spellbinding!” ★★★★★ \nAcclaimed experimental theatre company Box House Theatre announces the debut of The Generact Trilogy Part 1 – “The Legend”\, an unflinching exploration of performance \, surveillance\, and the psychological burden of performance. \nIn a dystopian world where humans are void of choice and occupations are assigned at birth. We observe a group of Synthents who have been bred for one sole purpose: to entertain. \nUnder The Generact Programme\, our Synthents are the vessel for the retelling of Legends and Tales\, imposed to perform under the unrelenting gaze of observers\, critics and opportunists. Our group journey’s through the miseries and rapture of life as an artist and how an audience fuel the unyielding compulsion for performance. As they navigate the ecstasy and misery of their imposed vocation\, the line between actor and character begins to blur. Who is watching\, and why? And what happens when the story refuses to end? \nPart 1 of The Generact Trilogy: “The Legend” (formerly Twisted Tales) is a “visually stunning” Platform Theatre piece created by Box House Theatre Company. A cast of six actors are confined within the parameters of a Platform with nothing but the physical arsenal of body and voice to bring four legends which all end with a twist to life. \nStripped-down\, high-impact theatre seen on stages all over the globe — this is dystopia reimagined that echoes the dark brilliance for fans of 1984\, The Hunger Games\, and Black Mirror.
