Depicting the harrowing events of the final battles of the defenders of Mariupol at the ruins of the industrial plant of Azovstal\, it shows the resilience and strength of its defenders\, but also a touching human side of its heroes with their love\, memories\, dreams and hopes for a peaceful future. \nMeanwhile\, one of the soldier’s mothers waits in her village\, sharing the worries\, hopes\, prayers and tears of all mothers in wartime. \nThe bravery of the soldiers defending Azovstal is inspirational\, not just to Ukrainians\, but to the whole world. Many of them are still in harsh prisons in deep Russia\, without hope of release. \nYou will have a chance to hear the creators’ stories about the writing of this opera\, with some music extracts from this opera\, followed by a Q&A  from the audience.

She is the author of twelve books of prose and poetry. Martina has been Royal Literary Fund Fellow at Queen Mary\, University of London from 2003-2007 and again in 2011-2012. She has run workshops in Ireland\, UK\, Switzerland and the U.S. and seminars at London Metropolitan University\, The National Film & Television School and Goldsmiths. She has been an associate lecturer in Creative Writing at Birkbeck University and University of East London and a Creative Writing tutor at the City Literary Institute\, Covent Garden\, London for many years. The romantic tragedy that Bottom & The Rude Mechanicals were asked to perform for the Duke in A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM? \nIn this interactive theatre experience\, the audience put their heads together to add the finishing touches to the Rude Mechanicals’ play\, helping to create a completely original version! \nCombining Shakespeare’s original text with fresh ideas from the audience\, the play is fleshed out with music\, props\, puppets\, rhymes\, sound effects & killer dance moves\, resulting in a completely fabulous and totally unique performance! \nEach show follows a simple narrative structure that the audience helps to develop\, encouraging kids to use their imagination as they help to construct characters\, write songs\, create stories\, invent sound effects and more.
