SUMMARY:Mirrors - When Silence Breaks\, Hope Rises
DESCRIPTION:MIRRORS by Ada Tsesmeli Edwards. Twice awarded by the Cultural Centre of Northern Greece for Playwright & Direction. About the performance: There comes a moment in life when each of us must look into the mirror and face our own reflection. But how ready are we to truly confront what we see? \nAnd what happens when the shadows of others blur the image before us? Mirrors is a deeply human and profoundly timely play about the truth of existence – a lyrical yet powerful exploration of the essence of life. \nThree women\, in three different cities: in New York\, Linda Anderson\, a bank employee; in Thessaloniki\, Corinna Papadaki\, an office worker; and in Rome\, Malena Conti\, a lyrical mezzo-soprano. \nEach stands before the dead end of an unfulfilled and empty life. Time\, memory\, and the fragile balances of their personalities reveal that those who once defined them are now nothing more than shadows in the mirror of their souls. \nThrough a painful yet liberating journey\, the three heroines reach a place of redemption. They find the strength to shed everything that distorts their reflection. Mirrors illuminate – with both grace and intensity – the fragments of memory we consciously or unconsciously push toward oblivion. For the closer one dares to approach their own mirror\, the more dangerous and courageous the journey becomes.

SUMMARY:Easter Uprising: Urvashi
DESCRIPTION:Urvashi is an independent London-based collective\, formed in January 2023. Inspired by the band’s shared love for traditional and modern music\, they draw equally from Indian Qawwali\, Arabic Tarab\, modal jazz and hard rock. \nTheir tracks layer both original melodies and fresh interpretations of traditional songs\, over grooves reimagined from different musical backgrounds\, combined with extensive improvisation. \nIn recent months\, Urvashi has been undertaking significant artistic development\, investigating how their love of modal jazz and devotional music traditions can engage with UK rave culture\, specifically drum and bass and techno. Drawing inspiration from artists who bridge electronic and jazz traditions\, the collective is developing an entirely new performance practice that translates electronic dance music into improvisation-led formats.
