SUMMARY:Carnaby Announces Christmas Installation 2022 ‘Carnaby Celebrates’
DESCRIPTION:Carnaby is world famous for its iconic Christmas installations\, and this year Carnaby welcomes the world with an immersive display which will be illuminated from Thursday\, 3rd November. \n\n\n\nThe lights will be switched on Thursday\, 3rd November\, with a celebration that includes over 100 shops\, bars and restaurants coming together for a shopping and dining party. Between 5 pm and 9 pm\, visitors can enjoy live music\, in-store activations and 20% discounts. Tickets are free at www.carnaby.co.uk/christmas. \n\n\n\nThe project collaborates with charity partner Choose Love to highlight and support the urgent need to raise refugee funds worldwide. Choose Love will have a shop at 15-17 Foubert’s Place selling a collection of limited edition products and refugee gifting packages\, with a constant stream of celebrity guests popping in to serve customers. \n\n\n\nSince 1997 Carnaby has brought joy to Christmas shoppers with inventive and magical lights. The streets have seen a variety of themes\, including an underwater seascape\, colourful rainbows\, oversized fairy lights\, giant snowmen\, 60s inflatables\, a kaleidoscope of butterflies and collaborations with two of the world’s most famous bands; the Rolling Stones and Queen. \n\n\n\nThis year Carnaby will celebrate those iconic moments from the past 25 years to create a breathtaking medley of the most coveted pieces. Throughout Carnaby\, visitors will see an exciting element of historic installations incorporating 14 different themes. Features include neon lyrics from Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody\, glittering Rolling Stones tongues\, fan favourites such as oversized robins\, a giant snowman\, colourful palm trees from Carnaby Carnival as well as underwater scenes from the unforgettable Under The Sea.

DESCRIPTION:Carnaby Summer Festival launches from 8th to 21st August with a line-up full of free live music\, giveaways\, interactive workshops\, plus a host of retail and restaurant promotions fit for all the family. \n\n \n\n\n\n\n\nLIVE MUSIC\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\nOn Thursday 11th August and Thursday 18th August\, free live performances will occur on Ganton Street\, just off Carnaby Street\, between 6 pm and 9 pm\, featuring a lineup of UK cross-cultural talent. \n\n \n\n\n\n\n\nLine up – Thursday 11th August 6 pm-9 pm\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\nConjunto Sabroso\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\nLed by percussion supremo Wilmer Sifonte from Venezuela\, Conjunto Sabroso embraces the classic salsa lineup of a three-piece horn section\, congas\, timbale\, hand percussion\, piano\, bass and two outstanding vocalists who cover classics from legends such as Tito Puente\, Celia Cruz and Ray Barreto. A real treat for Carnaby\, this will be a session by one of Europe’s finest salsa big bands.\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n Sister Suzie and The Right Band\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\nA five-piece band that will take the audience on a musical journey through Blues\, Rhythm n Blues and Fifties Rock n’ Roll whilst nodding in the direction of Irma Thomas\, Big Mama Thornton and Elmore James. These cats are a force to be reckoned with. Having regularly played the likes of Glastonbury all across Europe and the US\, this is a rare Carnaby performance for the band and is not to be missed. \n\n \n\n\n\n\n\nLine up – Thursday 18th August 6pm-9pm\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\nSalut Band\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\nInternational award-winning Funk\, RnB and Soul show band\, Salut will take to the stage with their seven-piece lineup featuring a singer\, bass guitar\, electric guitar\, drums\, keys\, a saxophone and a trumpet. Kingly Street\, Newburgh Street and Foubert’s Place festoon lights\, along with the giant bulbs on Ganton Street\, will be illuminated in red\, white and blue in honour of the festivities.  \n\n\n\nStarting on Thursday\, 2 June\, Carnaby is hosting an array of on-street activations such as glitter makeovers and complimentary ice lollies and live music performances.
