DESCRIPTION:Music Halls Project is very proud to present Samantha Whates and Ida Wenøe lives at The Sanctuary\, Greenleaf Road Baptist Church. \nAs Ida Wenøe & Samantha Whates made their way around the UK on their first co-headline tour in early March of 2020\, it was clear something weird was happening around them\, the radio in the tour bus was talking of nothing else\, the chat at the merch table was becoming more and more about one thing\, audience starting to question whether to come to shows which they had been anticipating attending for months. \nDespite the rumbles of imminent lockdown\, Ida and Samantha played right to their last show\, and a few days later\, we were in our homes for over a year. The music stopped.\nIda and Samantha will be heading out again in March 2022 to do it again\, but with bells on! They have been working hard to make a fantastic show of brand new\, never performed material and collaborating on new arrangements of older favourite songs! Expect beautiful harmonies\, a multi-instrumental element played by the pair and perhaps some special guests along the way too! It’s how it was but even better! This will appeal to fans of Ida Wenøe & Samantha Whates!

DESCRIPTION:Music Halls are very proud to present Maroon Town.\nWhen eight-piece Maroon Town first started 30 years ago\, they were the first ska band to mix ska and reggae with rap\, funk and Latin to produce a fresh new sound with conscious and uplifting lyrics.\nJohn Bradbury of the Specials produced their first album and singles. These recordings propelled the group to get the attention of the international music community. They led to extensive touring in Europe\, Japan and South America\, and we are so excited to bring them to Walthamstow and The Sanctuary at Greenleaf Road Baptist Church.\nSongs have been synched to major Hollywood films; the band became the recipient of the UK’s most important sponsorship deal for an independent band with £100k from Dr Martens\, 27 inmates broke out of a Jamaican prison hours after a performance inside the jail!\nStill\, at the cutting edge of creativity\, their latest album ‘Freedom Sound’s released on the Spanish label ‘Brixton Records’ in 2018\, blends conscious reggae\, jazz\, Big beat ska as well as an up-tempo ska collaboration with renowned Basque Country reggae\, rock and ska singer Fermin Muguruza. (Spain\, particularly Catalonia and the Basque Country\, has long been a touring destination for the band).

DESCRIPTION:Revive Live and Music Halls are proud to present Kadialy Kouyate\, and Muntu Valdo live at The Sanctuary\, Greenleaf Road Baptist Church.\nKadialy Kouyate draws on his heritage and traditional songs to create his own mesmerising compositions\, leading his fantastic band into the West African groove. Kadialy Kouyate’s kora playing and singing style\, both as a soloist and in different ensembles\, have been appreciated in many prestigious venues\, including the Royal Festival Hall\, the 02 Arena\, the National Theatre\, the Royal Albert Hall and Clarence House. Kadialy has also played venues and festivals worldwide\, touring Europe\, Australia and North America.\nSawa blues is the term Muntu Valdo himself has coined for his own music. Many songs’ roots have a rhythmic and melodic sensibility that flows from the rich wellspring of timeless Cameroonian folk music. Still\, this base is enriched by a wide range of idioms part of the African Diaspora\, from Brazilian samba to American soul and jazz.
