SUMMARY:The Long Play Sessions: Sathnam Sanghera - Tonight The Music Seems So Loud
DESCRIPTION:Hosted by music creative Juliet Russell.\n\n\n\nJoin The Long Play Sessions for a fascinating exploration of George Michael’s life\, music\, and legacy\, as prize-winning author Sathnam Sanghera delves into the extraordinary story behind one of Britain’s most beloved musical icons.\n\n\n\nThrough George Michael’s remarkable journey\, Sathnam explores the defining forces of his life and career – from immigration\, homophobia and fame to the cultural landscape of the 1980s and 90s\, creative genius\, the tabloids\, addiction\, obsessive fans and shame. A revealing and deeply engaging conversation about an artist whose music continues to resonate\, and whose legacy has only grown in the years since his tragic death in 2016.\n\n\n\nReviews:\n\n\n‘A compulsive new fan’s-eye view of the singer . . . A fabulous account of the various expressions of George’s precocious and polymathic talent\, from writing “Careless Whisper” aged 17 on the top deck of the No 32 bus to the great soul-revival of Faith’ ― OBSERVER\n\n\n\n‘Fascinating and moving’ – ED SIMONS\, THE CHEMICAL BROTHERS

SUMMARY:Attending Landscapes: Walking\, Listening and Mapping with Harri Harrison
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a four-session online course exploring how to see and sense landscape through walking\, listening and shared attention. \n‘Attending Landscapes: Walking\, Listening and Mapping’ invites you to develop a deeper relationship with the landscapes around you. Through walking\, sensory mapping\, drawing\, writing and observation\, we will explore acts of witnessing and encountering green environments\, asking how we come to know a place deeply\, understand its stories\, and what these stories might reveal about our own internal landscapes. \nAcross four fortnightly sessions\, you’ll be encouraged to return to a local green space\, building an ongoing relationship through creative prompts\, shared discussion and attentive practice. You will learn to time-travel with this land. \nLed by artist and educator Harri Harrison and hosted by IMT Gallery\, the course offers a reflective and practical space for artists\, writers\, educators\, walkers and anyone interested in developing a more attentive relationship with landscape.  \n🌿 Places are limited — the course begins 13 September. \nReady to see the landscapes around you differently?
