SUMMARY:Me and My Friends at Grand Junction W2 - Afrobeat Concert
DESCRIPTION:The UK-based genre-defying quintet Me and My Friends brings their Afro-infused grooves to West London\, soaked in glorious folk harmony. \nThe band play soulful\, poignant music that draws influence from Afrobeat\, Jamaican roots\, jazz and Ghanaian highlife while subtly incorporating elegant folk songwriting. \nThe West African finger-picking guitar style of Nick Rasle is cradled by stunning vocal harmonies and the evocative combination of cello and clarinet\, all underpinned by a rhythm section with a deeply infectious groove. Alongside playing songs from their three critically acclaimed albums\, featured on BBC Radio 2\, 4\, and 6Music and receiving plaudits from Giles Peterson\, Me and My Friends will be performing their new EP\, Reworks – which they released back in June this year.

SUMMARY:Lito Apostolakou - Clothes You'll Never Wear
DESCRIPTION:‘Clothes You’ll Never Wear’ is a participatory art installation that challenges the function of the retail space as a site of fast fashion consumption by transforming it into an immersive workshop and creative hub for making\, reusing and sharing. \nArtist in residence Lito Apostolakou uses waste materials to create textile sculptures based on personal stories\, memories and perceptions of identity. Drawing inspiration from visual\, textual\, and audio resources\, she invites members of the public to join her in using recyclable materials and waste fabric to create imaginary garments. \n‘Clothes You’ll Never Wear’ responds to the current precarious climate by transforming waste into visual expressions of identity and reimagining the high street as a centre of creativity. Princes Arcade links the cultural hub of the neighbouring Royal Academy with the bespoke menswear retailers of Jermyn Street\, with the project representing a conceptual and physical bridge between both. \nYou are invited to witness the collection of absurd garments develop and grow\, learn about the stories that inspired the pieces or tune into personal memories.

SUMMARY:“There is no incurable!” A path to health for body and soul. NOW MOVING ONLINE
DESCRIPTION:“There is no incurable!” A path to health for body and soul. Invitation to an International Lecture.  NOW MOVING ONLINE.\nGiven the current world events and social-distancing recommendations\, we have had to cancel our international series of lectures that were planned for Northern Ireland\, Scotland and England and we are now moving it to online. \nWe therefore would like to invite you to our virtual lecture (via Zoom) to be held as follows: \nThursday\, 23 April 2020\, 7pm – 8.00 pm\nSaturday\, 25 April 2020\, 11am -12.00 pm \nPlease register by sending an email to BGlecturesUK@gmail.com \nA doctor will speak about ‘Healing on the Spiritual Path – medically documented.’ The doctor belongs to the Medical Scientific Group (MWF) of the Bruno Groening Circle of Friends. \nDue to remarkable healing successes\, Bruno Groening became world-renowned in the 1950’s. He left behind the knowledge of how to receive a natural healing energy which he called “Heilstrom“. Healings happen now as then\, even from “incurable” diseases. These are recorded in a multitude of medically documented success reports. \nVisit https://www.youtube.com/BrunoGroeningOrgEN to view some examples. \nDuring the lecture\, listeners can experience the healing power for themselves in a simple and natural way. Medically documented healings are presented and commented on in a way which is understandable to the general public. Healed people will report about how they have become free from years\, or decades\, of disease. \nAll interested people are welcome to attend. \nContact: Mary 0044-7738 533322 \n
