Prepare to have your mind blown as Hoji\, Sam Kuch\, Bobby Brown and the breakout girl posse “The Blondes\,” have the time of their lives shredding and stomping. \nWith the global shut-down of the pandemic we are reminded how important it is to spend time outdoors with friends having fun. \nThis film is a balance of personal action segments and location/story-based segments that not only show progressive skiing but interesting stories. Grab a beer\, some popcorn and yell “Huck Yeah!’ with the most fun ski movie of 2020. \nStarring: Lucas Wachs | Janelle Yip | Sam Kuch | Lucy Sackbauer | Chris Rubens | McKenna Peterson | Connery Lundin | Emily Childs | Bobby Brown | Arianna Tricomi | Mark Abma | Michelle Parker | Eric Hjorliefson | Tonje Kvivik | Karl Fostvedt \nAlso Featuring: Adam Kuch | Banks Gilberti | Jossi Wells | Torin Yater Wallace \nShot on Location: \nJackson Hole\, WY | Whitewater\, BC | Whistler\, BC | Alaska | Rusutsu\, Japan | Idaho | Mt Baker\, WA | Verbier | Sw Donner Pass\, CA | Mt Cain\, BC | Troll Mountain. \nThe event also includes a very special preview of Holmlands new film “The Revelstoke Diaries”\, alongside a raffle with a host of amazing prizes to give away. Raffle tickets will be available to purchase on the door for £5 per strip. \nIn respect of government guidelines\, safety measures will be in place for this special screening- with a limited number “Phase One” tickets initially made available to ensure safe social distancing with the theatre. \nIf and/or when guidelines change – additional tickets will be made available\, with an option to hold a second screening on the same night\, once the initial wave of tickets is sold out. This will allow for safe social distancing measures to remain in place but provide two groups to see the film on the same night.  Of course\, if it is safe to seat everyone in the theatre at the same time\, we will do so. \nPlease stay tuned to the Holmlands social media channels for updates. \nAll ticket purchases are strictly non-refundable and non-transferable. (However\, if the event should be cancelled due to government restrictions\, a refund will be made in full). \nWe hope you can join us\, and enjoy some escapism from troubling times on the big screen in a fun filled\, action packed night of big mountain skiing action.

SUMMARY:Comedy Shows - Shazia Mirza: Coconut
DESCRIPTION:https://youtu.be/30YzlF5N5rk \nComedy Shows with Award-winning Shazia Mirza is taking on the burning (and infectious) issues of our time in her latest show.\n“I wrote this show two years ago. It was relevant\, funny\, timely\, and I knew every single bit of it. Then one day in March\, the world ended. I had nothing to do\, nowhere to go\, and I did what everyone else was doing. I sat on the settee in my pyjamas\, stuffing myself with Nutella whilst watching documentaries on Ted Bundy. I thought I’d better change my show and make it more relevant: no one cares about reality TV\, celebrity and me starving in a jungle; let’s get real. \nPeople have been struggling to get eggs these past 12 months. Prince Harry told The Queen to do one\, Meghan Markle turned into the new Yoko Ono\, and a few more black people were on ITV. But\, then\, things got serious\, and I have to make some jokes on this while I’m playing to sell-out crowds of 100 people in 3000 seater stadiums”. \nRecently seen back to absolute basics in Channel 4’s Celebrity Island with Bear Grylls\, taking a speedy turn (2.07 seconds to be exact) in BBC2’s Top Gear and temporarily enjoying the high life in Channel 4’s Travel Man – 48 Hours In… Côte d’Azur\, Shazia has also guested on ITV’s Jonathan Ross and Loose Women\, BBC1’s The One Show\, and is a regular panellist on Channel 5’s The Wright Stuff. \nOur prices are subject to demand\, so book early to guarantee seats at the best price. \n

SUMMARY:Soho Christmas Lights 2021
DESCRIPTION:The Soho Christmas lights have a strong community focussed theme this year – 21 luminescent installations have been designed by children from Soho Parish School under the direction of architect and RIBA Architecture Ambassador Antonio Capelao\, with the support of Hannah Peaty\, art lead at Soho Parish School alongside Joao Rocha of Storm Flowers London. \nLighting up Soho’s streets from 8th November\, the panels have all been designed by a selection of the school’s current pupils under the supervision of architect Capelao and brought to reality by Blachere Illumination UK. The festive designs range from snowmen\, baubles and reindeer to once again bring back the magic of Christmas. The lights are heartwarming installations and represent what it is like to experience Christmas through a child’s eyes.

SUMMARY:Making the West End a fashion destination
DESCRIPTION:Learn more about how Jewish designers innovated\, defied expectations and transformed the West End. \n\n\n\nJoin us and learn more about the stories of Jewish designers\, makers and retailers who made London’s West End a fashion destination. From the glitz and glamour of Carnaby Street boutiques to the sophisticated styles of couturiers\, the West End has been home to a host of fashion makers who dressed the rich and famous and founded retail chains still on today’s high street. \n\n\n\nIn this discussion\, we invite special guest speakers Beatrice Behlen\, Rowland Gee (son of Cecil Gee)\, Danielle Sprecher and Dr Liz Tregenza to reflect on the broad range of fashion stories in the West End and explore how Jewish makers of all levels of fame and obscurity contributed to making London a fashion capital. \n\n\n\nThis event includes FREE access to the Fashion City exhibition. Please note the exhibition will be open after the event\, between 8–9pm. \n\n\n\nTo book tickets and for more information on speakers\, follow the link to the Museum of London Docklands website.

SUMMARY:Connecting Threads
DESCRIPTION:Great Pulteney Street Gallery rings in 2026 with a group exhibition that explores the links between marginalised materials and cultural hierarchies. For Connecting Threads Paul Carey-Kent and Christina Niederberger selected eleven artists whose works broaden the scope of textile art. \nHaving long been dismissed as inferior to painting and sculpture\, stitched\, woven and threaded works are increasingly receiving attention and recognition\, yet are still widely considered as separate from traditional fine art disciplines. Just as aspects of identity relating to race\, sexuality or gender are becoming more fluid\, so are artists redefining their practice in terms of medium\, material or methodology. \nThe participants in Connecting Threads incorporate physical and conceptual elements of textile art into painting\, photography and sculpture in response to societal and political shifts. Sam Owen Hull comments on an increasingly polarised world with the material contradictions of spontaneous painterly marks and considered hand embroidery\, while Christine Niederberger interweaves unconscious readings of Abstract Expressionism as a male domain with textile elements widely perceived as female. Michael Raedecker and Tamar Mason both explore the impact of humanity on the natural world\, from an urban and rural perspective\, respectively. \nWith the majority of works in the show leaning towards more abstract and conceptual approaches\, Caroline Achaintre’s and Debbie Lawson’s tapestries bear the closest resemblance to traditional textile art. The former creates hybrid characters by blending materials and cultural references; the latter hides imaginary creatures in patterned carpets. \nJulie Cockburn and Berend Strik both use textile techniques to add new meaning to found photographs\, while Hannah Knox mirrors the meditative slowness of knitting when meticulously painting items of clothing. Kate Terry uses thread to draw physical lines into space while John Walter digitally re-engineers popular textile patterns to draw attention to the intersection of art\, science and architecture. \nThe location itself provides a link to Soho’s rag trade legacy that has evolved from fabric traders and garment showrooms to flagship boutiques and a fashion destination.
