SUMMARY:Hit The Ground Single Launch
DESCRIPTION:This is a launch party for his unreleased single ‘Hit The Ground’ which is to be released on the 15th March\, with an audio premiere from Atwood Magazine. As well as this support Tadhg has also been featured in publications such as GigSlutz\, Louder Than War\, It’s All Indie\, Fortitude. Along with online publications\, Tadhg has had some great support with BBC Introducing London as well as BBC Introducing Jersey. \nBorn and bred Jersey boy Tadhg Daly\, returns with Indie-ballad track ‘Hits The Ground’ that will be released on all major streaming platforms. Having over 75k Spotify streams on Daly’s latest track ‘Fires’\, you can expect nothing less than a heart-warming alternative styled saga. Tadhg exclaims that ‘Hit the Ground’ “is a really important song to me. It sort of represents what I consider to be my “re-birth” as a person. That may sound terribly cheesy\, but I can’t think of another way to put it.” \nThe singer then continues to quote\, that the track is about “letting go of the fear that stops us from pursuing what we love and prevents us from being the version of ourselves we dream of being.” Which is represented by the ‘guiding’ voice in the track that represents his caring family\, especially his mother that he describes her as a ‘spiritual guru’\, a message that Tadhg reflects within the song.

SUMMARY:Tadhg Daly at The Finsbury + Support
DESCRIPTION:3rd October sees Tadhg Daly take to The Finsbury stage for his biggest London headline show to date. Support comes from Fergus and Drew Thomas\nTadhg Daly is a Jersey Born singer/songwriter who has starting to make waves in the UK. In the relatively short time\, he’s been performing Tadhg has played sold out headline shows in renowned London venues such as Notting Hill Arts club\, The Troubadour and Jerseys Blue Note bar and Rojos. He recently wowed a crowd of 2500 + at Jersey’s Fort Regent when he opened for James Blunt and has since released his debut single “Too Late” and follow up single “Fires” to critical acclaim\, “Fires” racking up over 50\,000 streams on Spotify in its first month. Since then Tadhg has gone on to release 2 more singles\, ‘Hit the ground’ and ‘stuck in the middle’ collectively racking up over 250\,000 streams and being featured on Spotify editorial playlists such as: New music Friday UK\, New music Friday Mexico\, New Alternative and New Pop revolution. \nFERGUS-\nFergus writes songs according to his mood\, often choosing to embrace the melancholy\, and through it finding a place of healing\, beauty\, and serenity. His formative years were spent singing and touring professionally with choirs and playing ‘cello with orchestras. When this period of his life – a half\, up to that point – came to an end he found himself burnt out\, without a sense of identity. Seeking self-discovery\, he rebelled. After a time\, adrift\, his love of making music returned for good. Fergus turned his ability to blend into a strength\, achieving harmony with his guitar and himself. \nDREW THOMAS-\n“There’s never really been a plan B\, it’s always been music or nothing for me” states Drew Thomas\, a Nottingham-born singer-songwriter\, now based in London.\nWith The Fray and Fleetwood Mac as influences\, Drew creates his personal blend of piano rock song writing with honest and wise lyrics beyond his years. \n“I want to make music that makes people feel something. Whether it’s happiness at 2 o’clock in the afternoon or nostalgia at 5am\, I want my music to affect people in the way so many have affected me.”\nHaving played shows in all corners of the country in various projects since he left school\, including appearances at Reading & Leeds festivals and daytime playlist slots on BBC Radio 1\, Drew has kept his song-writing at the forefront of everything he’s done.\nSince taking the leap and going it alone last year\, Drew has already gained momentum\, having played various shows in the capital and receiving highly acclaimed support from Sofar Sounds and BBC Introducing. Having already supported the likes of Kaiser Chiefs\, Jack Maynard and the Aces\, Drew is keen to push his heartfelt live show to all areas of the country in 2019. \n>>> TICKETS <<<

SUMMARY:Sharmoofers [UK Debut]
DESCRIPTION:Making their anticipated UK debut\, MARSM UK is proud to present Sharmoofers\, the Middle East’s urban ear-worm music pioneers and legendary pop icons from Egypt’s vibrant alternative music scene. \nFounded in 2012 by Ahmed Bahaa and Moe El-3rkan\, the band has become known for their Middle East power fusion of upbeat tempos\, Arabic reggae-ska infused pop and unique brand of comedic social commentary. Think of a mix of Barenaked Ladies’ humorous pop fused with Shaggy’s swagger and the unapologetic bounce of hip-hop. Adding in some touches of Latin mambo\, biting saxophone lines and relentlessly catchy bass lines\, Sharmoofers have created an unparalleled and unforgettable live performance. \nThe band’s London show takes place after their recent receipt of “Best International Band” Award from the prestigious Boisdale Music Awards. Now how’s that for a British Invasion! \nThis event is 16+\nScala is not wheelchair accessible

SUMMARY:HEN OGLEDD - Concert
DESCRIPTION:Upset The Rhythm presents \nHEN OGLEDD\nTuesday 7 December\nCorsica Studios\, 4 & 5 Elephant Rd\, London\, SE17 1LB\n7.30pm | £14 | Tickets: https://link.dice.fm/ubtrl5YlLjb \nA band project comprising Richard Dawson\, Rhodri Davies\, Dawn Bothwell and Sally Pilkington\, Hen Ogledd’s meaning comes from the Welsh name for The Old North. Following on from the quartet’s previous album Mogic\, with its digital overtones and themes of artificial intelligence\, Hen Ogledd’s second album Free Humans takes a deliberately organic and natural approach. Inspired by ABBA as the work of 12th century mystic-composer-naturalist-visionary Hildegard von Bingen\, touched equally by the spirits of radical philosophical plumber Mary Midgley and PC Music star Hannah Diamond\, as quiet as the paintings of Agnes Martin yet bombastic like a Werner Herzog documentary… it’s an album of seamless\, glorious contradictions. \n \n  \nTackling themes of love\, friendship\, Gaia theory\, sewers\, the nature of time\, human stench\, and the thrills of wild swimming\, it’s remarkable that\, given the intense collision of influences and wide-ranging ideas at play\, Free Humans somehow coheres into a marvellous whole. Hen Ogledd manages to hold both the tragedy of the wrongs happening in the world and also a sense of hope and liberation in their hands at the same time. \nHOME

SUMMARY:THE SPACE LADY
 + ROBERT SOTELO
DESCRIPTION:Upset The Rhythm presents… \n\n\n\nTHE SPACE LADYROBERT SOTELOFriday 1 JulyOSLO\, 1a Amhurst Road\, Hackney Central\, E8 1LL7pm-10pm | £12.50 | Tickets: https://link.dice.fm/J68e0e40746a \n\n\n\nTHE SPACE LADY began her odyssey on the streets of San Francisco in the late 70s\, playing versions of contemporary pop music an accordion and dressed flamboyantly\, transmitting messages of peace and harmony. Following the theft of her accordion\, The Space Lady invested in a then-new Casio keyboard\, birthing an otherworldly new dimension to popular song that has captured the imaginations of the underground and its lead exponents ever since\, with the likes of John Maus\, Erol Alkan and Kutmah being devotees. Of her early street sets\, only one recording was made\, self-released originally on cassette and then transferred to a homemade CD. ‘The Space Lady’s Greatest Hits’ released in 2014 through Night School features the best of these recordings – mostly covers but with some originals – pressed on vinyl for the first time and features archival photographs and liner notes from The Space Lady herself. ‘Greatest Hits’ contains The Space Lady’s personal favourites; her haunting take on The Electric Prunes’ ‘I Had Too Much To Dream (Last Night)\,’ a frantic ‘Ballroom Blitz’ amidst other reconstructed pop music. Following on from this wonderful record\, The Space Lady released a split LP in 2015 with the Burnt Ones on Castle Face records which included her spectral take of ‘Across The Universe’ and a recent LP from 2018 through Mississippi entitled ‘On The Street Of Dreams’.https://daily.bandcamp.com/features/exploring-the-intergalactic-wonders-of-the-space-lady \n\n\n\nROBERT SOTELO is a mercurial melodist building a resplendent world of pristine DIY pop from the ground up. The Glasgow-based artist’s songs are meticulously crafted\, patchworked together with eclectic arrangements and ardent vocal performances. Last year Upset The Rhythm released Robert Sotelo’s vivid new album ‘Celebrant’. ‘Celebrant’ was intended to be and still is to some extent a joyous wedding album (Sotelo is recently married)\, but in his own words “the pandemic and the death of my aunt Carmen intersected with the original concept so the album is darker than intended in places.” More cinematic and measured than prior albums\, Sotelo expounds that “it is purposefully a bigger sounding attempt at my keyboard songs and I felt more ambitious about it in general.” That’s certainly reflected in these twelve sophisticated loops of song\, all curiously affecting and catchy\, sprinkled with Sotelo’s offbeat musings and keenly accurate observations. Guitars are rarely employed on this record with Sotelo recruiting Iain Mccall\, Ross Blake\, Celia Morgan and David Maxwell to contribute brass\, woodwind\, spoken word and acoustic drums respectively. All of these additions blend well with the album’s synthetic core\, softening and subtly shaping its pop-first nature into something more nuanced\, vulnerable and human.https://robertsotelo.bandcamp.com/album/celebrant

SUMMARY:The Coveryard presents Caught Beneath the Landslide
DESCRIPTION:The Coveryard’s eight-piece ensemble of composer-performers is bringing their trademark genre-smashing antics to a brand-new live show\, ransacking the ruins of the end of history to reassemble a multi-layered musical portrait of the golden years of Britpop. \n\n\n\nJoin us for an intensely relaxed evening of live music as we deep dive into the ‘official’ Britpop era of 1993–97 — from Modern Life is Rubbish and Maybe\, to OK Computer and Spiceworld — and reanimate a musical movement that vowed to live forever. \n\n\n\nExpect megahits from Britpop’s so-called ‘Big Four’ and cult classics from their guitar-wielding fellow travellers. Expect a few provocative picks from some of the pioneering UK artists and styles that evaded the ‘Britpop’ label\, whether trip hop\, big beat or acid jazz. Most of all\, expect the unexpected as we pull apart\, reinvent and mash together some of the most iconic music of the ‘90s\, casting a sideways glance at the decade’s wry mix of hedonism and mundanity\, back when things could only get better. \n\n\n\nAbout the Coveryard \n\n\n\nThe Coveryard is a UK-based collective of composers and musicians working across musical styles and genres. Since 2012\, they have programmed and produced live music shows across London that explore the concept of the cover version: most recently\, in a series of gigs at St John’s Hoxton celebrating the music of the Smiths\, Fleetwood Mac and Paul Simon. Freely mixing traditions from folk and jazz\, rock and electronic\, chamber and early music\, the Coveryard is committed to rearrangement\, reinterpretation and reinvention. \n\n\n\nwww.thecoveryard.com

SUMMARY:Cloudbusting - The Music of Kate Bush
DESCRIPTION:As the longest-running and most universally applauded homage to the music of Kate Bush\, Cloudbusting has been championed by the BBC as one of the most authentic tributes in the world. Their passion for Kate’s music has won over sceptical fans everywhere\, challenging perceptions of what a tribute band can be and resulting in sell-out performances across the UK. \n\n\n\nExploring Kate’s unique repertoire\, Cloudbusting will take you on an extraordinary journey as they explore the themes of Love & Anger. Whether exhilarating or tormented\, joyful or anguished\, innocent\, bitter or even taboo – one thing for sure is that it’s never a simple path in Kate’s songbook! \n\n\n\nThe two-hour stage production will also feature all the hits you would expect to hear – Wuthering Heights\, Hounds Of Love\, Babooshka and of course the worldwide No. 1 hit single that has taken every music chart and streaming site by storm since its first release back in 1985\, Running Up That Hill – all with breath-taking vocals and superb musicianship. \n\n\n\nMany of Kate’s original collaborators from stage and studio have been inspired to join the band on stage\, including bass player Del Palmer\, drummer Preston Heyman and dancer Stewart Avon Arnold\, all of whom performed with Kate on her legendary Tour of Life back in 1979. \n\n\n\nThe show is enhanced with stunning visuals\, reflecting the character and mood of the songs\, making a Cloudbusting concert an event that no Kate Bush fan would want to miss!
