DESCRIPTION:Love You From Prague presents the work of Robert Vano\, one of the most acclaimed photographers of Czech and Slovak origin\, whose career took him from Czechoslovakia to New York\, Paris and Milan before eventually bringing him back to Prague. Making its London debut\, this retrospective features more than fifty photographs spanning four decades of his career. \n\nThe exhibition is divided into three thematic sections. Boys from Bohemia showcases Vano’s celebrated black-and-white series exploring youth\, friendship and freedom against the dramatic backdrop of the Adršpach Rocks. Polaroid Sessions highlights his work for leading fashion magazines including Vogue\, ELLE and Harper’s Bazaar\, revealing his distinctive approach to Polaroid photography. The final section\, Prague Impressions\, presents poetic views of Prague\, the city Vano chose as his home after years abroad. \nTogether\, the three series offer an insight into Vano’s unique visual language\, shaped by fashion\, portraiture and fine-art photography\, and the remarkable international career that made him one of the best-known photographers connected to the Czech Republic. \nRobert Vano (b. 1948\, Nové Zámky) is one of the leading figures of Czech and Slovak photography. His work spans fashion photography\, portraiture and the nude\, with a distinctive focus on black-and-white imagery created on traditional film. He is known for his use of natural light\, Polaroid photography and the historic platinum printing process. Over the course of his career\, he has photographed international models\, actors\, athletes and public figures. Since 1984\, his work has been exhibited extensively in the Czech Republic and abroad. This is a free-to-enter competition\, with submissions sent digitally. \nThe theme for this year is Everyday Life (to be interpreted however you see fit!) and is limited to one submission per person with a chance to be included in our Young Photographers exhibition taking place in the Courtyard this August. We will print and frame the selected works which will be on display from Wednesday 29 July – Monday 24 August. The finalists and overall winner of the competition will be announced at the private view on Wednesday 29 July from 7.30 – 9.30pm. \nTo enter this category\, please read over the rules and send your entry via the link below by Friday 10 July. \nSubmit via email \nOver 25? DESCRIPTION:Presented at Cris Contini Contemporary in collaboration with Carola Syz Projects\, this exhibition brings into focus the enduring visual language of Willie Christie\, whose work as a fashion photographer\, spanning over a decade\, continues to resonate with striking clarity and relevance today.\n\nEmerging at a pivotal moment when fashion\, music\, and popular culture converged\, Christie photographed a constellation of defining figures\, including David Bowie\, Bryan Ferry\, Jerry Hall\, and Grace Jones. His images move beyond documentation\, constructing presence through a masterful use of light\, colour\, and composition\, creating photographs that feel cinematic and charged with atmosphere.\nA central element of his practice is his work for British Vogue\, where he produced a significant body of editorial imagery alongside ten striking covers. Created in collaboration with Grace Coddington\, then a fashion editor at the magazine and later his wife\, these works introduced a new visual language defined by narrative\, mood\, and a refined sense of artifice.\n\nAmong the highlights of the exhibition is Christie’s iconic 1969 portrait of Mick Jagger\, in which a luminous halo of light transforms the image into something mythic. Also featured are his photographs of Jerry Hall on the set of The Spy Who Loved Me at Pinewood Studios\, capturing both the scale of cinematic production and the magnetic presence of the subject.\nChristie’s later move into film\, including projects connected to Pink Floyd’s The Final Cut\, further reflects the cinematic quality that defines his work. Across both still and moving images\, his practice explores atmosphere\, narrative\, and the emotional resonance of light.\nWillie Christie: Light\, Lens\, Legend presents a body of work that remains both timeless and influential\, inviting a renewed appreciation of photography as a medium capable of shaping perception\, memory\, and desire.

DESCRIPTION:Embrace the power of collaborative creation in the second in a series of transformative workshops led by artist duo Georgia Clemson and Lina Ivanova\, hosted by IMT Gallery. In The Museum of Connection\, you are invited to explore the generative possibilities of collectivity through a series of guided creative exercises and to imagine working together as a new way to survive on our damaged planet. \nIn the last decade\, our experience of closeness has radically shifted. Digital interactions\, though abundant\, have left many of us reliant on screens for connection. Georgia and Lina began The Museum of Connection in response to this change\, inspired by Donna Haraway’s term Sympoiesis\, meaning making-with\, a reminder that all creation and survival depend on collaboration. \nThe duo will transform IMT Gallery into a space of encounter\, a shared and fertile ground where real-life connection and creativity can take root. Each workshop in the series will be themed for a collective act: food\, play\, touch\, and movement. For this workshop\, Lina and Georgia invite you to use your whole body to create an image with a difference\, exploring the theme of movement. \nIn this workshop\, we will gather in the gallery to create one-of-a-kind artworks\, both collectively and individually. The event will begin with a specially themed meditation\, written by the artists\, and unfold into writing and drawing games. The primary technique in this event will focus on cyanotypes\, a form of experimental camera-less photography. This technique reduces the image to its fundamental components – light\, shadow and form. The process is unpredictable by nature\, resulting in artworks that record our intentional and incidental marks\, the traces of presence\, sharing\, and interaction. Each image created is ephemeral but can be ‘fixed’ as a lasting memory of the moment. The workshop will culminate in the collaborative creation of a large-scale cyanotype. \nAs a participant\, you will have the opportunity to contribute what you make to the Museum’s growing archive\, as a living monument to community\, built within two fleeting hours\, yet resonant with the lasting memory of connection. \nEach workshop in this series is different\, so if you have joined us before\, you are welcome to join us again. No experience is necessary. Please bring your preferred drawing materials and paper\, additional supplies will also be provided. \nMeet the artists: \nGeorgia\, Clemson\, and Lina Ivanova are London-based artists with fifteen years of combined experience in creative facilitation. They first exhibited together in A Cohesion of Light at Peckham 24 (2021)\, and created The Museum of Connection in 2024. Both artists have a background in experimental photography and make work challenging the conventions of the medium. \nGeorgia’s work has been featured in Source Photographic Review\, Harper’s Bazaar and Vogue Italia. Recent exhibitions include The vessel that contains me at Creative Health Camden and Retreat: the UK’s first climate refugees at Middlesex University as part of Barnet Climate Action Month. Lina is a co-founder of Revolv Collective and a recipient of the Turner Contemporary Portfolio Prize. Her work has been exhibited by RPS\, the South Bermondsey Art Trail\, and the Goethe Institut in Bulgaria. SUMMARY:The Queen and the Playwright: A Royal Visit at the Prague Castle
DESCRIPTION:The photographs by Czech photographer Alan Pajer capture the historic and intimate atmosphere of HM Queen Elizabeth II’s visit to the Czech Republic\, which took place 30 years ago\, in March 1996. \n\nHer host was the then President of the young country\, former dissident\, prisoner of conscience\, and playwright Václav Havel\, and with him the whole Czech nation. \nSet against the optimistic backdrop of the 1990s\, in a country enjoying its first years of freedom after the fall of the Communist regime in 1989\, the Queen’s visit was a significant moment. Although sharing many important moments of courage and solidarity throughout history\, the two countries had been officially separated for decades by the Iron Curtain\, as Sir Winston Churchill famously named the ideological barrier between Soviet-controlled Eastern Europe and the democratic West. In reality\, however\, it was not only an ideological divide\, but also a very real physical barrier\, marked by barbed wire\, border fortifications\, and strict controls that limited movement between East and West. \nAnd it wasn‘t all just protocol when this heavy veil was finally lifted. Queen Elizabeth II and President Havel not only exchanged state orders\, but also discussed private topics\, such as their shared love for dogs. The Queen and her husband\, HRH Prince Philip\, did not miss the opportunity to walk over the famous Charles Bridge to cross the River Vltava\, and even met some Churchill fans on the way. The visit also followed earlier visits and a long-standing interest in Prague and its cultural heritage\, shown by the then-Prince Charles. Famously\, the Queen demonstrated her well-known respect for people when she decided to visit not only the capital city of Prague\, but also the Moravian hub of Brno. \nThe visit also brought some important closure. The Queen addressed a sensitive moment in Czech-British history\, when in 1938\, Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain signed the Munich Agreement\, which stated – against the will of the Czechoslovak government – that the bordering\, mainly German-speaking parts of Czechoslovakia would become part of Nazi Germany in the hope of appeasing Hitler. It was a failure which still resonates today. \nAlan Pajer (b. 1948) was one of the photographers of the Czech presidential couple since 1996\, capturing historic diplomatic moments of the newly established Czech Republic\, which came into existence in 1993 after the peaceful break-up of Czechoslovakia. \n„In this century\, my country actively supported the creation of the first Czechoslovak Republic under President Masaryk\, which had such a tragically short existence. The events that brought it to an end are the only shadow over our relationship\, and I understand and sympathise with the feelings in this country over the Munich Agreement\,“ the Queen said in Prague in 1996. Her visit is retrospectively seen as an important milestone in fulfilling the Czech ambition to join NATO and the EU. DESCRIPTION:To celebrate International Women’s Day 2026\, the Royal Hospital Chelsea is delighted to partner with photographer Jackie King to display a collection of never-before-seen photographs showing some of the 19 female Chelsea Pensioners who currently call the Royal Hospital their home. \nWomen were first admitted to the Royal Hospital Chelsea as Chelsea Pensioners in 2009\, a full three hundred and seventeen years after the Hospital first opened its doors to Army veterans. Since 2009\, many women have chosen to become part of the Royal Hospital community\, donning their scarlet coats with pride. Yet today – seventeen years later – many people are still surprised when they meet a female Chelsea Pensioner. \nThrough her photos\, Jackie King highlights the character of some of the female Chelsea Pensioners currently resident with us. Showcasing the individualism of each sitter\, she shares their unique stories visually\, while representing how embedded in the Royal Hospital community female Pensioners are today.

DESCRIPTION:Pixels and Poetics: Sudek\, Funke and the Influence of New Technologies on the Development of Photography connects the world of interwar analogue photography with the visual aesthetics of today’s digital age. It offers visitors a unique opportunity to trace how the image has transformed over two centuries—from tangible traces of light to synthetic visual worlds created by artificial intelligence. \nThe exhibition presents iconic works by Josef Sudek and Jaromír Funke\, whose photographs demonstrate how light\, composition\, and atmosphere can transform reality into poetic or constructive visual worlds. These classical approaches are complemented by historical photomontages\, double exposures\, and analogue manipulations\, showing how deeply the desire to reshape the image is established in the tradition of photography. The historical works in the exhibition are drawn from the PPF Art collection\, which plays a key role in preserving and presenting Czech photographic heritage. \nThe contemporary section of the exhibition develops this dialogue through artists working with AI and generative technologies. In her work Your Addiction Is the Message\, Barbora Trnková reveals the mechanisms of visual dependency in the digital environment and the role of technologies in shaping our perceptions. Lenka Hamošová\, in the project Troubling GAN and the series Strange Attractions\, explores both the aesthetics and limitations of neural networks\, showing how algorithms create and reproduce stereotypes or visual hallucinations. A collaborative work by Trnková and Javůrek\, Generation of Princesses\, uses generative models to critically reflect on pop-culture ideals of femininity and their digital reconstruction. DESCRIPTION:21 June – 22 September \nJoin us for ‘Black Darter: A Dragonfly Safari’\, a new exhibition by renowned wildlife and landscape photographer Andrew Fusek Peters \nFor eight years\, photographer Andrew Fusek Peters has been trailing the Black Darter dragonfly across the upland habitat of the Long Mynd\, Shropshire. Photographing the Black Darter from dawn through to dusk\, Andrew captures the intricate detail of this endangered dragonfly\, drenched in dew or silhouetted by sunlight. \nAndrew Fusek Peters is a wildlife and landscape photographer who has been photographing wildlife across Shropshire and the UK for the last 13 years. His work regularly appears in the national media \,and he was awarded Highly Commended in the British Wildlife Photography Awards 2025 for his photograph of a black darter dragonfly under the Milky Way. \nThe exhibition will be open to the public from 21 June to 22 September 2025\, and is included with admission.

He primarily produces work in the Middle East and Eastern countries\, focusing on how place shapes people’s lives\, memories\, and social fabric. Ovayolu is an artist who conveys personal stories and collective memory through the language of photography. He has been living in London\, UK\, since 2022.\n\n\n\nNacho Rivera (Madrid\, 1977) is a Spanish photographer and educator based in London. With a mindful and artistic approach\, the thread of human experience runs through his work. He delights in detail\, highlighting the subtle and the unexpected\, creating thoughtful\, serene and meaningful images\, with an emphasis on narrative. His work has been published in books and magazines such as The British Journal of Photography\, The Telegraph Luxury Magazine\, The Times\, AD Magazine\, House and Garden and GQ Magazine. His projects have been displayed in Museums\, Galleries and International Photography Festivals\, including The Mediterranean Museum in Spain\, The Hoxton Gallery and The Manchester Contemporary in the UK\, amongst others. As a photography teacher and mentor\, He has shared his knowledge and experience in schools such as Lycée Français Charles De Gaulle and Kings College in London. He has also participated as a panellist at Photography Festivals\, most recently at RevelaT in Barcelona. \n\n\n\nSemra Diana Halipoğlu (b. 1987\, Bulgaria) is a visual artist specialising in photography. She graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts at Akdeniz University\, majoring in Photography.\n\n\nHer practice explores themes of identity\, mythology\, and the hidden structures of consciousness\, often constructing handmade scenes that merge tactile materiality with symbolic narratives. Through her work\, Halipoğlu invites viewers into a space where inner worlds\, ancient myths\, and contemporary selfhood intertwine. She currently lives and works in London. \n\n\n\nSeren Şarapçıoğlu is a Brighton-based visual artist whose work navigates the fragile territories between memory\, identity\, nature\, and existence. Working primarily with photography\, she transforms her images through subtle manipulations\, bending the familiar into the unfamiliar. In her recent portraits\, the deliberate erasure of eyes dissolves certainty\, inviting viewers to confront the unseen emotional landscapes within each figure. Her practice drifts between documentary and experimental narrative\, creating porous spaces where image and memory blur. Through gestures of disappearance and transformation\, she explores the shifting thresholds between the human body and the world it inhabits.\n\n\n\n\n\nYiğit Günel is a London-based multidisciplinary photographer whose work centres around people-based stories\, captured through a meticulous approach to lighting and a focus on authenticity. Since founding CULT in 2022\, he has expanded his practice to include Cult Creative Meet-ups\, a platform for artists and creatives in East London to connect and openly discuss the mental health challenges within the creative industry. Yiğit was selected for the London Creative Network Artist Development Programme in 2021 with Four Corners and continues to exhibit his work both locally and internationally. His notable exhibitions include New Photography (2015) at Alan Istanbul and 34 Women 34 Portraits (2012) at the Antalya Film Festival\, among others. His work has been published in Photographing a Rebellion by Ozcan Yurdalan (2014) and Moscow Diary\, a self-publication in 2005. He has also lectured and conducted workshops on storytelling through photography\, advanced lighting techniques\, and portraiture\, most recently hosting ongoing monthly Cult Creative Meet-ups in East London.\n\nCurator Dr Nilay Islek is a London-based artist\, academic\, and curator originally from İzmir\, Turkey. She studied photography at the Faculty of Fine Arts at Dokuz Eylül University and completed her PhD at the Department of Radio\, Television\, and Cinema at Ege University\, focusing on visual culture\, collective memory\, and conceptual photography aesthetics.\n\n\nKnown for her interdisciplinary approach that combines artistic production\, curatorial practice\, and education\, ISLEK has taught photography in various institutions over the years and actively participated in documentary\, conceptual\, and cross-cultural projects. In 2016\, she became the first female photographer from Turkey to be awarded the title of “X-Photographer” by Fujifilm.\n\n\n\nIn 2018\, she relocated to London after being awarded the prestigious “Exceptional Talent” artist visa by the United Kingdom. As an extension of the Artlens Visual Culture and Photography Workshop she founded in İzmir\, she established Artlens London Visual Art Atelier in 2019. ISLEK continues her artistic production and workshops in London\, where her interdisciplinary projects focus on themes of memory\, identity\, and place.\n“Selfhood” invites the audience not only to observe but also to confront themselves and explore the shared connections within their personal experiences.

SUMMARY:Instant Highway: Connectivities in a 15-Minute City
DESCRIPTION:Bringing together ideas from urbanist Dan Luscher’s ’15-Minute City’ and London-based architectural group Archigram’s ‘Instant Cities’\, which reimagined urban possibilities in the form of portable kits\, this half-day workshop will focus on the ‘Instant Highway’ as a means of imagining connectivities within a city in which all necessary infrastructure can be reached on foot within 15min. By responding to the immediate local environment and architecture of the Czech Embassy’s celebrated Brutalist style\, participants will record\, document and represent their surroundings through photography\, collage and drawing to create a collaborative model of an ‘Instant Highway’. \n\n\n\nThe workshop is ideal for those interested in Brutalist architecture and how it exists in urban spaces – from interested public to art\, design and architecture students. SUMMARY:Reflections
DESCRIPTION:With Reflections\, Olga Karlovac presents a visual journal of her inner world as a series of experimental self-portraits alongside timeless and nameless landscapes. \n\n\n\nKarlovac’s work occupies a space between figuration and abstraction\, shadow and light\, recollection and the here and now. Using her camera as a painterly tool to create an atmospheric and grainy aesthetic\, her intentionally blurred contemplations intuitively convey fluidity and emotion. Not intending to chronicle a specific circumstance or situation\, the artist evokes memories and moods that are at once intimate and universal. \n\n\n\nThe exhibition concludes a transition period that spanned six years and three books. \n\n\n\nThe exhibition runs from 12-18 June 2023\, open daily 12noon – 6 pm \n\n\n\nPrivate View: Wednesday 14 June\, 6-9 pm
